Ok, I don't know if this bothers anyone else but I don't exactly have a widescreen here at home. I'm working with a 17". The front page News pictures really aggravates me. Why? Because everything gets pushed aside and I hate that.

Who votes for a resize on the pictures, or don't post the darn pictures at all?

Images are a major part of the Home page News setup...I try to re-size pics to fit but it doesn't always fit "well"...Doesn't seem to bother most members and I'm a big fan of images on the Home page so removing them is out of the question...Sorry :D

However...If a lot of people are bothered by this...any ideas on how to reduce the format funkiness would be appreciated...Thanks.

PS...I used to have a 16" notebook as my main pc and it was definitely NOT a widescreen setup...However, I never felt irritated by the Home page format...even with the notebook.

Now I rock a 24" widescreen :D

Just change your desktop resolution...or spring for that 20"+ widescreen... I have a 21" myself... (Of course...I am little older than you and didn't buy my first computer until I was 22, so I understand the 17")

You can't just change the resolution on an LCD monitor.

wrd.

I have a 23" widescreen here at work (I think 23" 23,24..something like that) and going to the front page is cool but when I get home, it sucks. Period.

Not the monitor's resolution...the desktop's. I would imagine the LCD could at least do up to 1280 x 1024.... It really depends what she is running now.

I can make my 4:3 monitor display a 16:9 screen very easily just by changing my display properties. My work monitor is 6 years old (CRT) and it can do it.

No, 17" LCD's generally are 1024x768 max.

That's too bad. I have never owned a 17" LCD. I would have expected better from them. My 20" will do 1600 x 1200, no problem.

Anyway...interesting about K-hole...never heard of that one. I guess I am getting too old...this is me...
