Front license plate

The front plate is convenient to use, but it the absence of one, the headlight is just as good.

I am stating this out of experience, not as the results of a web search(five-0)

Funny, I wasn't having a pissing contest with you. I don't appreciate the condescending implication that my knowledge is "web search" based. I was simply supporting MY experience and knowledge. Not sure I could have been any clearer about the fact you were partially right (scratch).

Since jandree22 was looking for some reasoning MD and VA (a couple of the states surrounding PA) has for using front plates and I gave him a valid use for them.

Thanks for the contribution.

reviving an old thread.

so, after bringing home the new 5 i thought i'd remove the front plate, as i do with all my vehicles. when low and behold, the actual bracket isn't screwed to the airdam, it's riveted! anybody here drill them out and remove?

I got lucky on this one. Texas requires a front plate...but its rarely enforced. The dealer asked if I wanted the bracket for the front plate put on. I declined. When I go in for inspection I can throw a plate in the front window (counts as legal as its visible from the front). The 5 looks sooo much better sans front bumper.

i'm from toronto, my license plate is on a bracket on the front of the car. but it depend where you are from.. quebec doesn't need front license plates, so there's no bracket. it really depend where you are from i guess...
