Front bumper replacement...need advice

Well a lovly tire cap came off of a semi truck flew in the air and took the good looks of my p5 away pretty quickly.

Well time for an aftermarket front end. I like the kenwood kit from onderground design...the $150 shipping from canada to Florida is kickin my a$$. Any one know of some other good front clips that look nice and fit well (as it seems the buddy club does not fit too well from what ive seen around here) A hand, some links and any other help i could get to lead me in the right direction would be helpful.

you can get a buddyclub2 front end.. might look wieird without the rest of the kit

but you won't have to pay shipping if you are willing to drive to jax

mine fit perfectly (i got the first one out of the mold) only reason why it looks ****** on mine is that it was a bad install

unfortunatly the wings west front doesn't fit the P5. But the buddy club idea isn't bad, like you wondering how it would look with the rest of the stock body.

well actually where is the damage? cause the dg lip will cover a lot of stuff on the lower portion of the bumper

Did you get the trucks number. Allot of times you can call the Trucking company and tell them there truck did this damage and they might pay for it. I have done this is the past with a previous car. Got a new front bumper and new rims and tires.

The Wings West front DOES fit the P5..where did you get the notion it didnt?? There are quite a few poeple here running that bumper..do a search for some pics.

lol right on, scrap the onderground then, I saw on some site...not WW that there front end didn't fit the MSP or the MP5. I like the WW bumper...hmm wonder what it would look like with the rest of the stock body.

Yeah the truck pulled over but when I did he jumped back in the rig and took off. I chased him down for about 20 miles to catch up with him. finally got him to pull over in the next county.

Now their insurance company is giving me the runaround, along with the trucking company. I got a police report and the whole nine. The family lawer has allready been told...hopefully this wont go that far. I want my car fixed!

When I was in a slight accident, the body shop told me that custom bumpers took forever to install - the install price would have been about $400 extra as opposed to stock. I too wanted a wings west, but decided to go with the normal stock bumper. Stock bumper looks way better anyways, in retrospect. Good luck with the insurance and all. Hopefully you won't have to pay for it.

$400 extra to install a different bumper? wtf? that shop is out to rob a motha. it goes on the same way as the damn oem one does. you should have told them to paint it and you could put in on free of charge. the only thing extra should be the price difference which shouldn't be that much since the dealership charges an arm and a leg.

I plan on doing the fitting. This definatly will not be the first time Ive changed body panels. Im just gonna drop the car off and have em shoot it when the body work is done.

The stock bumper cover runs $244, $30 for the splash guard which is also mangled, and $150 for the foglight.

Looking at the picture, will all the black crap come off? It looks as if the damage is along the bottom, so you could get a lip and cover it up like traitorhound said, unless I'm missing something out of that picture.

Yeah the bottom support is broken and the supports on the sides are broken. Also the grill is all busted out.

Dude, you should be getting estimates already. Don't wait for them to tell you to go do it. You need to get all the estimates you can, and take the highest one and show it to the trucking company AND the insurance. DO NOT go to anyone they "recommend", and If they ask you who you're going to go to first for an estimate, tell them you don't know yet. Cause if you do, they'll have their agent calling that body shop asking to get a cheap deal, while compromising the quality of the work done to your car. Insurance companies have policies on going with the cheapest, and doing shady s*** to screw you over, just so they can save a couple of dollars. Don't let them give you any crap about "you were following too close." If you don't hear anything by Monday, GO TO YOUR LAWYER. Send them a letter telling them that if they don't hurry, you're gonna seek legal recourse. Insurance companies don't like to hear that, cause if they lose, they gotta pay to fix your car PLUS the court fees. If you dont get a speed reply (like the next day after they get the letter), have your lawyer give'm a call. that'll light a fire under their asses.

PS. My "minor" bump costs over $1,000 to fix at any decent body shop, but since i Told the bastards @ the insurance company which one i'd go to first for an estimate, they got a deal to do it for $600, BUT they're NOT replacing the BENT-ASS metal bumper support on the Passenger's side because "it's not bent enough to warrant replacement" WTF? Just cautioning you to be careful, man.

u aremisinformed. savaho had one on his car. the front and sides fit.. the rear doesnt.
