Front bumper protective lip...

Has anyone taken off the black protective lip underneath the front bumper? The previous owner really scratched up the right side where a gap is showing between this piece and the bumper. I'm gonna just order the the right side and replace it since it's unsightly. Any info/tips appreciated :)

TIA

Oh man, I hope not. I'll have a chance to take a look at it tonight.

I'd like to know this also. Although, you could always add a home depot lip to cover up the scratched one.(dunno)

I'm glad Justin from PartsZone told me it was two pieces - it wil be potentially easier to do.

Took a closer look last night and there are rivets and clips holding the lip on. I guess these things are not meant to be replaced (easily). Is there an easy way to remove rivets - as to not damage the front bumper or parts associated with this lip?

i would not worry about it as you may scrape it also. there is nothing worse than fixing something like that then damaging it again

I did a brief search on Google for "removing rivets" and a lot of them show drilling. I don't know about that as that's a weird position to be drilling. I guess these things are not meant to be replaced/taken off. I was really hoping to get rid of at least one side of it since there's a gap between the lip and the bumper - not to mention gouges and scrapes that you can see.

its pretty ghetto but ive seen alot comes out looking nice. u can use the DIY "lip" from home depot or such to cover it up if it bugs u that much. or else, do it right and never have to worry?
