Why can trimming not occur now the lip is painted? I would have thought you could do it fine without effecting the paint - a sharp knife?

all of us that got the dg urethane have the same fitment. it sucks, but we got it for a fraction of the price that it costs now. trimming would be cool if it didnt require repainting the lip. unless you want to pay to repaint my our lips. i didnt think so.....

because the urethane lip is black. my car is white. scraping off the paint to trim it would leave unpainted areas that would be very visible on my car.

Oh, I just figured that if you cut it with a sharp knife there would only be one edge that was black and that would sit up firm against the bumber and not be seen. I guess you have already thought this through a lot more than I have... (scratch)

if i had known what i know now, i would have done some trimming before i painted it. of course we were part of the first urethane GB and i was just excited to get it on the car. live and learn.
