What sucks is that I traded in my 07 Civic si for the same ******* issue. Not saying I'm trading in my MS3 any time soon but damn...
no no no, the si
actually does have a design issue. i have one of those too ('o7 si sedan) and that problem is being addressed via a TSB that was issued this weekend -

the ms3 doesn't have an issue, it's really a user adjustment issue. i don't baby mine at all going into third, i just adjusted to the car. like i said, i was suffering from the same issue, but after personal adjustments, stuff that has nothing to do with changes to the car, i got it to work beautifully for me. my 2 to 3 shift is straight, pure butter each time, every time. you have to sit down and think more about the shift and what you are actually doing and as you get it, it'll become second nature.
same here, only issue is 3rd gear so it makes no sense with the timing suggestion. i think its an issue with 3rd gear it self, and with 900 miles on the car it just pisses me off
you didn't read what i said at all. you are suffered EXACTLY what i suffered from, and at the same time. remember, i said it was a problem when i first got the car (like you). i had issues shifting into 3rd during "racing" conditions (like you). the first month or so made me think there was an issue, until i made the necessary personal timing adjustments, based on what i described about what i think is going on from an engineering standpoint with the cables and the transmission actuation. the parts i bought might make it easier to adjust to the whole situation (inserts/bushings/SS), i can't say that isn't true, but whatever the case, i was like you and now i'm not because i adjusted accordingly. i dunno what else to say, but i wish you all luck. if anything, the trans and the clutch are tricky to some, but not broken ; )
