FREE MPI help!

thank you sir ;) the car had a great start when i got it n i jist pretty much tweeked it to my personal liking :) glad you dig what i done wit her man

ok quick question lets have a few people chime in for what they think. Ok i have the option to get a mpi tuner at a really cheap price with laptop and hardware right now i wanna run about 10 psi im running the stock gt25r turbo everything else is aftermarket besides the exhaust manifold on a stock block would it be a good idea to get it or wait for a split second v1 or v2 whats everyones feelings towards this?

If ur only gonna be runnin 10psi then honestly i wud jist go wit a SS.. the mpi is basically the closest thing u cam do without goin to a full standalone. ++ the stock msp ecu already runs super rich. i have my mpi off right now and at 9psi at full throttle the afr stayed at 10.0 so i went ahead and upped the boost to 10.5psi n now it still sticks around 11.8-12.2 and i'm on a gt28 turbo. the stock ecu is more then capable to compensate for 9-10psi. but if u can get n mpi piggyback for a damn good price n its pretty much a steal.. i say crank the boos to around 12psi make ot worth buyin the setup. cuz runnin 10psi isnt gonna cause u to change the tine very much maybe jist a lil tweek.

also how do u mount the extra injector on the cold pipe, do u use a stock injector and how does the harness hook up to it? probably a dumb question but i wanna know what im gettin myself into

im not sure about how there mounted i'd haveta double check but i think my kit came with the injectors mounted already onto a peice of the coldpipe from MAM. and no i believe there mustang injectors. the injectors come with the harnesses and the wire up directly to the mpi and u tune them from the program

You need the basic knowledge of the fuel requirements for the power you are looking for when choosing the parts to install.

It takes some time, but you have a solution. Let someone that KNOW the thing to do the right thing unless you have the money to experiment and the will to accept blowing engines as part of your life.

Bringing it back from the dead...

Ok, so I'm researching everything necessary to install my MPI tuner on my P5 correctly. I found some instructions online that basically just say connect MPI red wire to ECU yellow wire (just an example). I want to make sure I understand this right... Does that mean I connect my car's wire coming from the engine bay to the MPI red wire which basically leaves a loose yellow wire coming out of my ECU that goes nowhere? If not, please help me understand how this is connected.

My other question is, will the wire colors for my P5 ECU match the color wires in the install instructions that are for an MP3? If not, can anyone point me in the right direction for install instructions on a P5?

All help is much appreciated!

no wires shud go out to your engine bay unless your runnin aux fuel injectors... its been awhile but i'm pretty sure all splicing will be done inside the car where the harness connects to the ecu..

to answer your other question the harness is the same for p5 msp mp3 and pretty much all 3rd gen proteges

the directions should be specific regarding cutting and splicing wires i have the instructions if you need them

I actually do have aux fuel injectors... im running a wagner t3 kit.

Just PM'd you.

I'm just a little confused if the wires should splice into the existing ECU wires or if I am replacing wires by cutting the ECU wires.

Thanks for the help!
