Going down the highway over the weekend a car passed me and I commented about the mini Shrine they had on the dash. So my girlfriend wanted to see it and told me to catch them. Nor I can't refuse a chance to punch the P5 up a bit. So I gradually accel to about 100-105 and catch up to them.
After looking over I move back to the middle, slow back down to around 75ish and turn on the A/C.
Soon as I turned on the A/C I noticed a little smoke looking air coming from under the dash. Then all of a sudden lot more smoke looking air started pouring out of the vents.

I about had a heart attacking thinking something blew, or one of my Blue Wire Look hoses came loose and was burning. So I smelled the air and it was simply fog.

Yep cold air meeting the hot air in the cabin and engine bay. Stopped after about a minute but still scared me shitless!!!

Anyone else ever have this.

Weird, never happened to me.

You could tell people you have a fog machine installed under the dash:D

Yeah, my ES did this on a day it was very humid outside. I was driving on the highway and knocked it back in 4th and pegged the gas pedal and this cool mist started coming out of the A/C vents. It's normal, because almost every car I have owned has done this if it has a good A/C system.

So what was on the dash? Some voodoo s***? (dark)
That's never happened to me. No humidity here....

Ya well my last car a Saturn wagon had horrible AC, the freakin thing was like a green house.

Totally normal...Simply condensation from the humid air mixing with the freon activated air...Only thig you should do is run your vent for a while after you use A/C to clear moisture out....to avoid mildew.

it happend to me a coouple of times .... the first time it did it i also was freaked out ... but no worries ........

there's something weird with smoke pouring out of the vents at highway speed. i pulled over too.

now it's just part of the summer for me.
damn all you guys that get to use the a/c all year long... I CAN'T STAND THE SNOW (but i can't afford to move all my family to socal :-(

it's happened to me too. It usually happens on humid days. it didn't scare me, i'm used te seeing it in cars with good AC systems.

Owned 5 mazda's, all did this much more often than any other make of car I've experienced. Kind of cool once you get used to it, in my GTX it was a *lot* of vapor, very smoke machine-ish:)
