Forget getting replacement speakers...

When I bought my car, the rear left speaker rattled a bit. I never made a big deal about it until the first week of January. First they ordered the wrong speaker....it was for the normal protege. That guy was fired :)

Next, they ordered the right ones, but, they were back ordered. I check in from time to time, and sure enough, the back order date just keeps getting pushed back.

So, here I am, 4-5 months later, and my rear speaker still rattles. My dealership is doing all they can. I can honestly say that. But, Mazda, as per usual is NOT.

This is my first mazda, and I can honestly say, I've never seen a JAPANESE company be this laid back about getting simple little fixes done.

Not impressed...

Just venting.

damn parts guys! my dealer took over a month to get me a frickin bolt! they kept sending me the wrong bolts, jackasses!

I hear ya Newf...Mazda Canada is absolutely the worst public relations Ive ever dealt with...And its the most money Ive ever spent on anything in my life....If it wasnt for my great dealership i wouldve ditched the MP3 a long time ago...Mazda Canada sucks!!!!

Good luck though

When i told the service manager about the bushings it only took 2 days for them to come in and they called that day to tell me. However this is the 3rd service manger in the past 8 months, check that it was the 3rd now that guys gone and another guy is service manager.

By the way I beleive the problems with the speakers are that Kenwood doesn't make them anymore they are 2 model years old now

I realize that you are getting these speakers replaced under warrantee....and there is a principle here....they SHOULD have been right from the factory.....but why not just go ahead and UPGRADE to something better...and when the new replacements come in at the dealer just hand over the bad ones you removed from your doors and get the new ones from the dealer....then just stick them in a box on a shelf for "just in case".

I hope it turns out ok....I brought my car in yesterday naturally about the clunking problem. The service manager said they are getting in "bigger bushings" to replace the ones I already have to fix the problem. I asked him for the part number to post here, but he didn't have it. Hopefully it won't take too long for these parts to come in(the clunking once you notice it is really hard to miss don't you think?) and then I'll post the parts number.

They are a warranty replacement. I am looking into getting something better, and maybe paying the difference. Mazda is required to have enough parts to do warranty replacements for a couple of years by law. At least, as far as I know they are.

If the speakers are discontinued....which I think they are, then that's not my problem. They should have had some in a warehouse somewhere for this reason. The car was only released last year! It's not like it's 5 years later. As long as I don't get a replacement that's worse, I'll be happy.

Clunking noise and service...

Hey bigblue - you mention getting bigger bushings to fix the clunking...

Make them replace the shocks also!!! I had mine done a week ago (and the bushings done about 3 weeks ago) and now I have no more clunks!!! (...yes, all under warranty).

I complained about the clunking noice three times, the last time they said the service manager was headed to a Mazda Canada conference (in Toronto) the following week and he would follow up with Mazda Canada there and they would call me. I was impressed when the actually did call me and ask me to book an appointment to get my new shocks installed (which they had already ordered and they had already arrived).

Other members have been slamming their mazda parts/dealership, I can't complain about mine after that!!!

:D

dang for being just customers, ya sure do know alot about the employees that work in the dealerships and what they do.

Im actually friends now with one of the guys in my dealership..he is in my car club

the other guys at my dealership are just really nice to deal with and i talk to them alot

as for me the replacement bushings were all i needed to fix the clunk

i gotta agree with u guys on the parts department, they suck. have any of you had your center caps fall off, i have? also i had to get another locknut for one of my wheels. well they ordered the wrong one twice, so it took me about 2 months for me to get adamn locknut. then my first and second gear go out in my car, well it takes the dumbasses of mechanics at mazda a month for them to put it in. i am not impressed with mazda at all. i will never deal with them again after this car.

Can't say I blame yeah there. I haven't had any serious problems like yourself. Only the infamous clunk, and a blown speaker ( And i know who blew it. It was the dealer that had my car before I did) But, the only way mazda is getting me back is if there's another mp3 type car coming out years down the road. I want to keep the mp3 for at least 3 yrs yet. I'm not in a rush to get rid of it yet. But I'm in no way impressed with Mazda of Canada.

Personally, dealership problems are why I go to a Mazda certified independant mechanic. Prices are usually better and the guy knows Mazdas. It's a good deal.

All warranty work can be done there as well.
