Forced Induction 101

Hmmm, PORSCHE Fixing the Automotive World One Part At A Time.

They have refined it to the point that there is no lag at all. The Car behaves like a Big N/A monster with a near linear torque curve.

That rotorex is definetly an interesting piece. Imagine how fast those roller bearings are spinning....

I'm not sure why you would consider a water injection system as a bandaid, if it is a well designed set-up it can be just as/if not more efficent and more resistant to detonation than a air to air intercooler.

Because the almighty Corky Bell hath decreed this in his Good Book of Turbo Commandments.

Is that where he came up with all this stuff? Figures (boom07)

agreed

Corky Bells book is by no means a bible, turbos have changed alot since that thing was written

Yes there have been changes, I'm looking for a Newer Bible, until it comes around, I'll stick with Max Boost.

If you change the efficiency of the supercharger and reduce the temperature and increase the density, you will get more HP because the air is colder, but to get the same Volume of Air, The Pressure Cant be lower, its impossible.

Bingo! Maybe we should start using "mass" instead of pressure, volume, temp, etc., since in the end it's really the MASS that matters (the number of O2 molecules that get into the cylinder). Even then you don't see the detonation properties, but it's a start.

I think a lot of these arguments start when someone doesn't understand how all the elements relate to each other. I think you said it best with the coffee table analogy. There are way too many factors in the real world that can flip the outcome of "ideal situation" calculations.

brian, how about protege 5 with a supercharger and turbo for the low and high end boost??

Brian, what do you know about hydrochargers (or hydracharger, as in hydraulic)? I have been interested in this for a few years, but I haven't seen one in action yet.
