For Musicians

i play bass and guitar. i have played guitar since i was in 9th grade, bought one of those "all in one" kits from AMS, had a "Premier" guitar cheap Gorilla amp and a gig bag. but hey, for $200 cant beat it. i then upgraded the amp to a Fender (i dont remember the model name/number) and i bought a Gibson SG from the local pawn shop. there were 4 of us that used to play when i was in high school, our drummer had a bass, so i used to play that while we jammed, and eventually he moved away so i bought my own. its an Ibanez SG200 (saw someone else has the same one) I'm cheap and it was on sale...and i have a Crate bass amp for it. i dont play nearly enough anymore...since getting engaged and then married i haven't been quite depressed enough to really crank out some good tunes...but i still consider myself a musician.

i'm sure you'll always be a guitar player, and maybe at one point you'll get back on the rythm of playing again. i know being married, we all gets a busy life..but as we go on, we get used to it, so by the time u get used to it, you probably get back to playing again

Did somebody hear about guitar center liquidation? or its only rumor?
they must have some good stuff there at reasonable prices....hmmmmm

thanks for the info dude. I've been waiting for the technology to get to this point... this sure wasnt the case a few years ago... now I just need to spend the next 4 or 5 years writing and recording my music.... - peace.

Go and download demos :)

But even the 'bare-bones' versions of Cubase and Sonar (Cubase SE and Sonar Home Studio) are awesome, especially when you consider their low, low price ($100-$150, instead of the $500+ that the 'full' versions, Sonar Producer and Cubase SX, do).

There are loads of free virtual instruments (software synthesizers) available online. You truly are limited only by your imagination.

one of the problems I had was not being able to sync my guitar tracks to drum tracks... If I can get to that point, I'll have an unstopable snowball rolling down the hill... I know I can do it, but I have a family, and I raise a child, so time is rare... gah! need another beer. lol

I play Tuba ,trombone, and baratone. I can also any variation of those istermants(valve trombone, bass trombone, susaphone, and those mini baratones that look like oversized trumpets. Can't remember what they are called.)
