My 02 p5 came from arizona and the headlights are hella foggy. my friend used some kind of cleaner on it and its a lot better but still bugs the hell out of me. Think i could buff it out or should i just buy new ones?

wow thats a huge difference. im gonna have to try that. mines not TOO bad. definitely not as bad as the honda.

then plastX may be all you need.

people think plastX is a cureall, but it isnt, its essentially a polish that has oils in it that break down by hand very easily which removes the yellow haze, but doesnt do anything about the oxidized plastic layer.

so yeah, if they arent to bad, plastx should do just fine.

3M Rubbing Compound works pretty good as well.
If you want you can also bake the lights, and clean it on the inside as well, and then leave the lens in the oven at lowest temp for about 5mins to evap all the oil moist, and then finish the rest of the restore DIY. i did that on my 100K old headlights and it almost looks identical to my brand new headlight that was replaced a couple K's ago.

Mine were pretty bad wished i had of taken pictures. I still have to do the van so maybe i'll snap some pics of the process. The method I used and worked great was I used 2000 grit wet sand paper, sanded the light till a milky/soapy residue was left cleaned the lights off and applied Turtle Wax polishing compound which i applied by hand but buffed off with a cheap orbital hand polisher made by simonized(sp?). I finished of by applying some Blue Magic Headlight Lens Restorer which again i buffed off with the power buffer. They turned out great. There is a how-to for the method I used I just can't seem to find it atm.
