Floor mats sliding around

I guess it's a good sign, but the most annoying thing about our Mazda5 is how the floor mats slide easily around the floor (we use both the carpet and all-weather mats, but both of them slide around). I notice that the Mazda floor mats have a hole on the driver side, presumably so that they can be anchored to the floor. Is there supposed to be a floor hook of some kind available for the Mazda5?

I notice that there is a hole in the carpeting just south of where the floor mat goes. Is this an attachment point for some kind of hook?

you're NOT supposed to be using both the carpet floor mats and the rubber mats... it says so on the instruction sheet!

There is an anchor that sits on the floor that hooks the mat and prevents it from moving forward. It's very easy to dislodge this anchor and so if you look under the front seat ypu may see it there......
My rubber mats stay in one place, no problems there.

I actually use both sets of mats (I didn't read the instructions ) and I'm fine. No slipping and sliding.

Well, first off, I don't use both sets of floor mats at the same time. Right now, I use the all-weather floor mats and will switch to the carpeted ones once the summer rolls around, so the slipping and sliding is not happening because I use both sets of mats at the same time.

Also, there is no floor hook on my Mazda5, so I'm guessing that it was either not installed or it got removed at some point during the dealer prep. (I know that VW dealers frequently don't install the floor anchors for their cars' floor mats)

Anyway, thanks for the confirmation that a hook is indeed supposed to be there.

My driver's side hook works perfect, but I find I'm sliding the passenger side back a few times a week. Why they don't put a hook on the passenger side is beyond me. I guess maybe on the driver's side it's considered a safety feature to allow proper pedal movement.

Yea, passenger all weather always finds it way upwards. I guess my wife uses the floor for support as she gets into her seat causing the mat to slide away from her seat. I've always wondered why they don't have the clip for both front seats?

If someone has time, can you post pics of that hook? I'm pretty sure I don't have it... The carpet mats are fine and don't slide, but this winter I made an habit of pulling the all-weather mat EVERY time I entered the car. If not the the clutch pedal always got stucked under the carpet and the pedal was always pressed down... Very unfortunate when you accelerate, want to switch to second but can't - pedal stucked... Grrrr...

anybody consider getting that liner material used in drawers to keep things from sliding around and putting it between the mat and the floor?? I use a section under the babyseat base on the leather in my Tundra.

I've got a hook on the driver's side. Although, it's loose and needs to be tightened down. Perhaps yours came off.

My problem is the second row mat slides forward under the drivers seat.
