Fixing Rims

You did it on your stock rims? I have stock rims, so do you know which brand is best? I don't like to do trial and error, that's why I always come on here to find out from others who have tried so that when I do it, no problem at all... feel me?

Yeah i understand... I dunno about our stocj rims though, i did it on my aftermarket ones, and they are lighter silver than the stock, and less metallic looking. Maybe someone else can help you out with the stock color

So you got your wheel fixed up then, Zoom? How did it turn out?

Yeah i fixed em. It looks good unless your nose is 6 inches from the wheel then you can tell the color difference. Other than that, it looks great, thanks for all the help guys.

So you used the How-To to do your rims? You bought the putty and all the parts? Let me know... I would be interested to know how easy it was.

Yup used that how-to to fix mine :D it was pretty straight forward, and simple, except you really do have to mask everything, the overspray is crazy, you'd be better off spraying it into a container and using a sponge brush to paint it on. Thats my only advice different from the how to

Yeah, I was thinking that when reading the how-to. I was going to spray it into a container just like i did with my calipers. So to make it short... this is what you have to do?

Clean rims
Apply putty
Allow to dry
Sand down.
Primer
Paint

???

oh yeah... so that's pretty much it huh? I'm gonna try to take a picture of my rim to show you all... let me know what I can do. Thanks guys!

scratches

Ok, please note that I just took these with my cell camera, so it's not the best, but gives you a clue about what I'm talking about.

They are all on the same rim too...

First pic... I did this like a week when I got the car! My driveway is steep, so I cut it wrong when coming out... haven't done that again since! You can see that this one is just like the one in the How-To...

Second and third pic... I was cleaning the inside and outside of my rims, including rotating them, and turned them around, just to find that I scratched them on the wall! It took 2 seconds and they got scratched. Anyway, these are NOT deep, they are superficial. Just the surface is scratched, so I MIGHT NOT need putty for these 2.

I appreciate any input...
