Fishdonotbounce's 2008.5 CWP Speed3 GT "Build" Thread

Ordered an ebay down pipe yesterday. Tonight, I took the plunge and bought PTP fuel pump internals from Protege Garage. They were on sale for 299.95 and could not be beat. I had to jump on them.

Evan and I also installed my CP-e turbo inlet pipe on Tuesday. Took it for a little drive afterward. The turbo spools quicker. The butt dyno feels very little to no difference in max power but I believe I've gained a small amount of area under the curve. It also feels a lot better to have that crappy stock pipe out of the car.

Just pray you get that stuff from PG in the next year or so...

Actually... which internals was PG originally selling that they had issues with? I can't remember the brand

Don't know but I've researched the fuel pump options pretty extensively. PTP had problems in the very beginning. They have put over a year of r&d in their product and they are one of the companies that offer a lifetime warranty on their internals. They now test every set of internals before sending them out like cp-e has done all along with their full pump replacements. My order was labeled as shipped this morning...

Good. I think it was PTP that had the problems originally like you mentioned. Kudos to them for better product testing and development after that mishap.

It sure can. I love it. I can't wait to drive it again. I can't wait for the internals and down pipe to get here and get installed. I'm excited.

nice, im gonna demand a ride when i see you next. when i drove my friends ms3 with just an intake, i was stunned by the torque....

Consider it done. Evan still giggles like a schoolgirl every time he rides along. I can't think of a higher compliment than a friend and fellow car guy reacting that way to my car.

If you need help with the DP or internals install i've done a handful already. You get the catless $150 speed daddy dp?

i totally agree. i love putting a smile on peoples faces when they ride in my car ESPECIALLY people who actually understand what they are smiling about lol

I really appreciate it. I'll take you up on the offer. I sure did get the speed daddy dp.

Agreed

Alright, I just put one on last week for a friend. Do you have an 02 sensor socket? If not, Ive got a set. Ahead of time you may want to pbblast all nuts/bolts/02 sensors so they aren't a pain in the butt to remove the day of.

I don't have an o2 sensor socket. I've read that it's a good idea to do what you recommend with the pbblaster. Does the speed daddy dp fit well? No issues?

I'm pretty sure Phen has one. I can haz another ride after DP install?

Only issue is if your running a wideband sensor for monitoring your afrs. One of the top two bungs for the sensors is un usable since it is angled right at the exhaust manifold. We opted to not use his secondary 02 sensor and just put his wideband at the last bung.

Gotcha. I'm not using a wideband so I should be ok. Ill let you know when I'm installing it. I'll hook you up with food and stuff. That's how we roll! Lol
