First spring cleaning for 505, with pics!

Snapped a few today, battery ran out though so I didn't get many.

Did your hood warp?

It's weird, when it's hot, it sits fine... when it's cooler out, it sits high on the drivers side.

Part of it is my alarm sensor button that sits on that side and it has a real stiff spring on it. That button pushes the hood up on that side. Other part of it is the hood props.

i contemplated turning on my AC today on my way to work =)

That's funny you say that, I just recharged the A/C today. Man it's sooo cold now. Walmart FTW, cost me $6 and came with a hose that I added from another charging kit.

Rich,

What did you use to clean the insides of your wheels? Every spring I clean them out really well before I put my summer tires back on, but they never come as clean as that!

Why wait for spring to clean the inside of the wheel? Unless you have "ham" hands you can use a rag with car wash soap or a straight wheel brush to clean the inside of the rim each time you wash the car. Use wheel cleaner if the brake dust and grim is really caked on inside.

Because it is 20 degrees outside, and my summer wheels are sitting in storage.

Every spring before I put them back on, I give them a good deep cleaning and wax them. Still, there is built up s*** on the inside of the wheel that doesn't come off. Wheel cleaner, simple green, etc, etc doesn't get it clean.

some wheel cleaners are very acidic, and can actually chemically bond hte brake dust to your wheels. try clay barring the wheels first to remove any impurities after washing it with car wash. usually car wash gets the job done just fine.

once every 6 months to get my wheels super clean, i take them off and wash every portion of it by hand. then claybar, then seal 2x with a synthetic sealant. the brake dust comes off much easier now with regular cleaning.

I do the same thing (thanks autopia). Claybar to get the crap off, wash em, then use some paint sealant (i just got the crap at autozone but it doesnt last as long).

The dust just washes off easier. There is some stuff u cant get off easy like road tar or if something bonds to the clearcoat. but for the most part the sealer helps keep the baddies off.

Yeah +1 on what terbow and NCZ13 said. I just use car wash and then hit them with simple green and a rag if they have any caked on brake dust. Clay, and then zaino two or three times. Once you get them clean that first time and then use the synthetic sealant, they are a million times easier to clean next time.
