First Proteg5 2003 Laser Blue in Qubec!

Hi to all you boys and girls! I just want to share with you that my girlfriend just bought the first Mazda Proteg5 2003 Laser Blue in province of Qubec (yippy)

She bought it at Albi Mazda, one of the biggest Mazda dealer in North America, thrust me on that! So, she really enjoy the car and I've already moded the day after the buy (because it's was getting late that day)

Here are some pictures I took (resolution and quality decreased for viewing purpose):

Theses following 3 are before she sign the paper in the dealer parking...

And finally, the first mod already done: Kenwood KCD-MP8017 CD/MP3 headunit

I planned to do the following mods somtimes:

1. Foglight rewire to turn them on alone and stay on with high beam
2. Sidemarkers always on with parking light and blinking on turn signal and hazard
3. Cold Air Intake (if the dealer say nothing because it's a lease) or a K&N Filtercharger drop-in at least[/list=1]This board look very cool and I'm sure I will share great times with you.

I love it. When i bought my P5 i almost bought an MP3 instead just so i can get that color. That is by far my favorite color of any stock car, i love it. I think i may have to sell mine and get a blue one.

if manual, short shifter and shift bushings.

How did you get the black headlamps? I went to a dealership the other day and they didn't seem to know what the hell I was talking about. The blue P5 does look nice though. Kinda reminds me of a baby WRX Wagon from certain angles.

LOVE the color and the side blinkers, hate the wheels and the cupholders w/o lid...I'll keep mine for a while.

Yeah well in french, you can say 24/24... For the fog, I searched the board yesterday and found only little infos about it. And also, it won't leave the fog ON with the high beams. I've done this trick on my Sentra and it was pretty easy. Just cut the +12V on the fog relay and tap it to the ON signal of the parking light... maybe it might work too on the Proteg5... will check that sometimes... As for the sidemarker, it should be about the same kind of tapping... I only need to reverse the polarity with the parking light I think...

Car is manual but changing shifter and bushings are no concern to me and my gf. It's only cosmetic mod that do nothing concrete on the car... A CAI, on the other end, will greatly improve that bad stock air intake design (I saw it... what a crap). In my research, I found many POP charger (AEM, K&N, etc...) but the only CAI I found is the Injen listed at 320$ US... fuc**in too expensive for a CAI... Is anyone found another CAI for the MP5 cheaper??? But, I will need the dealer advise for the warranty on that...

nope...i've just been reading the board for a while when i was car shopping...once i found out the the '03s were coming in Laser Blue i knew that would make my choice simple...

Crap, now that's the type of blue I WANTED!!!! Oh well I'll make up for it when I buy my next car in about a year or so Anyways the color is nice, but I prefer our good old 2002 rims... I do like the new clear side marker however with the amber, kinda defeats the whole point. Look at the above pic with your finger covering the amber side marker... Much nicer eh!!! Just my 2 cents..
