ok.. I had basically the same tint you have back in 1988 on my brand new civic right before Ohio passed their 50% law and yes, I believe I was the first person to get cited for it. 5% back 3 windows, 20% front 2 and the windshield tinted at 35%... the police officer pulled out the brand new light gun that registered window tint. The back window came in at 3% and the front drivers window was at 14%... It looked really cool during the daylight hours, and was like sitting in a cave while inside. The only problem is during the afterhours driving. Can't see sh!t behind you and it is hard to see cars beside you b/c the headlights are really dimmed out. As for safety? Who cares, Cell phone and pda's are more dangerous.
