seat travel? Mine doesn't interfere with the seat travel.

that's because you have a 99..
on the '01+ cars they switched to a taller seatback with a littel different design and apparantly you lose a notch or so of travel... This is what they told me when I called harddog directly this afternoon..
I'm 5' 11" with long legs and he basically said that most people my height without racing seats find the hardcore bar to be more uncomfortable. I don't race it enough where I wanted to sacrafice that...

Apparntly the two are both basically the same design. Differences are that teh sport has a bolt that goes to the frame where the seatbelts mount, and the thickness is slightly thinner.
The SCCA specifies a slightly larger walled tubing for rollbars (which they use on the hardcore) than they require for roll*cages* The Sport bar is made from teh tubing that they construct cages out of.

Mine, BTW is also the M2 version of the Hardcore. I hope to put in a glass rear window someday, so I went M2 instead of M1. The M1 gets the harness bar, which would break the glass!
I went with the hardcore in the hopes that I might someday race this thing Solo 1, which is time-trialing or hillclimbs. I didn't want to have to upgrade bars later if I got to do one of those events.
I've since decided that I don't really want to risk the Miata on the track at all, so we picked up the seven, (AKA Rotor b****) to rag out in competition scenarios! Even with the recent and forthcoming improvements, we have little enough money in that car that if I were to ball it up at the track, we could probably sell parts off of it to make up the money!

You should have been in allentown the Sunday after the MTMA cheesesteak run. A group of Miatas was on a fun run (whatever they call em) by there, about 15 miatas all in a row, but no MSM!
