Finally got pics of the system

Over Heating

Here's a few pics taken tonight; I'll post a few tomorrow of the head unit.

I had two major goals - be stealthy and give access to the spare. The system looks *almost* completely stock from the outside. The only thing that can be seen is a different head unit, but it's a double din so it's not too noticable. I'm using all Boston Pro's all around powered by a JL 300/4 and 2 10" JL 10w3v2's powered by a JL 500/1. I've got two 4 Gauge runs into the rear of the car, each with a 60 AMP fuse (more pics tomorrow while it's light).

Hey, I am about to perform a similar install (subwoofer box/Amp-Cap on other side) to my Speed3. I am concerned about facing the amp/cap side towards rear seats, because the amp may not have enough space to vent heat, or more of easier said.... overheat faster. I am enclined to face subwoofer towards rear seats (in trunk area) so that the amp has the remaining trunk space to ventilate.

Have you gotten any Amp over heat issues due to this?

Hey Acl,

How did you route your Amplifier +power cable to car battery? That seems to be the hardest part of DIY installations, and any tid-bit info would help me greatly.

wow, this might be the oldest revived thread to date...

should be some more recent threads in this section. but i wouldnt be too worried about overheating with this type of application, specially 7 years later, technology has come quite a ways.

take it your planning on running 2 4 gauge wires through the fire wall? i ran one but has been four years since then so dont remember where it was, if someone doesnt chime in before, i can trace it and get back to you tomorrow

Wow... did not check the dates on this thread.

I am only installing one amp to a FI.SSD12 subwoofer...hence 1 4 gage to trunk. The Bose system is aight! Just need more/real bass. Of course a cap will be between the two (Batt-Amp). I have a 2003 Nissan Spec V in which I performed a total system install.... amp cable was routed driver side cable-way....pulled front left tire/inner wheel well coverings off and up into engine compartment. was pretty easy....BUT I have not ventured (check out) into the possibilities of my options on my 2008 Speed3.

Thanks for reply and ANY TYPE of information would be GREATLY Appreciated.
