Finally going to order my HID's

No not bad at all, it just diminishes the life of the light bulb much quicker since they are always on, thus you will have to replace bulbs more often then leaving them off during the day. Also, if you do leave them on all the time, make sure you cancel the auto dimming from your cluster otherwise you will have a hard time seeing anything on the cluster and information screen right above the radio unit.
 
**ANOTHER UPDATE**

After driving with my new DDM Slim Ballast H11 35W 5000K kit for two weeks, I hate to say it but I am not impressed with the performance in the light output that it projects to the ground, lookwise, it looks awesome and very upscale though. This could be due to only being 35W, being 5000K color or both. So I dished out another $55 and bought another set from them. This time I bought the Apexcone Raptor HID kit in the 4500K color and 55W output. I will install them either tonight or sometime this week and will report back.

Wrong. I have a 2010 Touring and it does not come w/auto on/off headlights. Only the GT has them. My 07 GT had them, that is why my wife misses them. I would have bought the GT this time around but could not get it in the color the wife wanted, plus the Touring we ended up with actually had more options and still cost $2000 less. The only thing she complains about is the lack of auto headlights.

If you are going to upgrade to HIDs, I would recommend to go with no more then a 4500K color and 55W output.

Now you tell me. Its too late as mine will be here Friday. I ordered the slim ballast 35w 4500k that you recommended.
 
I am truly sorry about the delay. I posted this info as soon as I got them and installed them. You may not be disapointed in your kit because you got the 4500K color instead of the 5000K that I got. 500K does make a big difference in color projection and you may be happy with it.

My wife drives a 2004 Ford Escape and her headlamp bulb just went out last night, so I just ordered from DDM a set of 4500K H4 (non-hi/lo) pair of HID bulbs and I will be using the 35W Slim Ballast that I also have to hook her up with HIDs.
 
I am afraid that 55w kit may damage projector because it may produce more heat than 35w which is extremely hot.
 
I will keep an eye on it, but everytime I get off I touch the headlamp and it is actually always cold. In fact the regular halogen bulb would heat the headlamp up more...anyone know for sure?
 
You actually can't feel the heat from outside the housing.
I know low beam bulb is covered by a small housing and projector lens.
I made once minor damage to the project housing when the hid buld is on.
The housing got melt when I had the bulb touched to it.
 
I can see how the HID bulb or even a halogen bulb can cause damage to the housing if it was physically touching it because the housing is made of plastic, but the question still remains unanswered...will a 55w output HID bulb cause damage to the headlamp/housing if it is properly seated? From my personal experice most HID bulbs have the capacity of projecting up to 60W of output, however, the ballast is what controls the total wattage being put out. I have also read (and please correct me if I am wrong) that HID bulbs burn cooler because it is a gas instead of a filament.

So does anyone have a solid factual conclusion or answer to the question??

Just installed mine on my 2010 Touring and can say its a big improvement. I have the DDM slim ballast 35w, 4500k bulbs. Although I'm very satisfied, the 55w is probably that much better. Like many others said, do not go over 4500K color for the best performance.
 
Does anyone have pictures of the HIDS that they installed? Everyone is saying 4500k but I just wanted to make sure it is not yellow looking.

Definitely not yellow looking. I turned it on next to my VW Touareg which came with HIDs standard and could not tell the difference. As a matter of fact, it has a slight blue tint to it. It makes the regular bulb look yellow. Performance on the Touareg was better though since its headlights were designed with HIDs to begin with. The performance of the DDMs are still twice as good as any other blue tinted bulbs you can buy. Heck, I paid $80 for a pair of PIAA extreme white bulbs and its not even close to the performance of the 35w DDMs and the DDMs were only $55.00. Still can't figure that one out.
 
4500K is definately not yellow as stated by jrtouareg...I have the 55W DDM HID kit and mine are pure white hardly a hint of blue. Definately without a doubt an improvement over regular OEM halogens.
 
Hey guys I need help! Just got a 2010 Touring 1 week new and already recieved my xenon kit (impatient). When I plug everything up I get nothing! If i hook up the lights directly battery they are working but nothing when i plug up to factory harness. Any ideas??
 
double and triple check the connector that plugs into the factory connector. WHen I installed my HID, I ran into same issue. The pins got pushed back,(on the HID connector side), thus not making a good connection. I used a pair of needle nose to push it all the way in. worked fine afterwards.
 
HIDs work independently from each other. Are both sides not going on? IF so, thats kind of strange. Sounds like the bulbs are not getting power. Like tonyj mentioned, please triple check all connections. If all connections seem to be fine, try switching around the connector from the OEM harness to the ballast backwards (reverse polarity) to see if this fires up the bulbs. Also make sure that the pin connectors are not bent or pushed in between the ballast and the bulb. If all this is good..call the retailer where you got them from.
