I am finally done!!! First and foremost I want to say, it is a pain in this ass. I would've have rathered been eaten alive by ethiopian kids...no kidding, this s*** took FOREVER.

The instructions were horrible, basically they had 3 steps "1. Pull out angel eyes out of box" "2.Remove front bumper and put angel eyes" "3. Have a happy life and enjoy your product!"...if it wasnt for this forum i wouldnt have done half of what I did.

Bumper was a pain in the ass at first but we finally removed it.

After the bumper, we removed the headlights and tried doing it with a hair drier like the instructions said, but it doesnt do s***. The oven idea was pretty good! so we tried it and it worked.

Aligning the halos wasnt too hard, but making the wires go through the back of one of the lights was a pain...very frustrating. But we finally did it with some will and brute force.

Here's the headlights already sealed:

Make sure everything is aligned and that you clean the inside BEFORE you seal it.

After we finally got done with the halos inside the headlights, we went and did of course, the wiring.

When we finally stopped staring at the wiring of the car thinking of how the fcuk we were going to wire that, we came up with a good idea. We went and bought some tap slices at home depot to fit the daytime running light wires with the wires of the halos...it worked.

The blue things are the tap slices (or however they are called) we bought.

Then we put everything together and that was it!

Then we put the new rims on the car and washed it.

For more/better instructions, go to this thread, it was very helpful! http://www.msprotege.com/forum/showthread.php?t=100957

By the way, I HIGHLY recommend it that you do it with a friend or someone else, it takes away frustration, its done 'quicker' or 'less slow' is a better phrase, and it also makes this thing be less boring.

It's all worth it though.

I'll take some pics when I can during sunset so you can see the lights...tried at night (because thats when we got done) and there's too much glare.

Hope it helped.

nice but i recomend getting rig of those splices. i recomend solder with a good heat shrink. those splices suck ass and tend to corrode very easy!! i work on electrical wires everyday on mil a/c and see corrosion and what it damages every day!

looks great just redo the wire taps!!

rob

yeah same advice here from another person who works with electrical components daily, solder and heatshrink... won't have to worry about it again.

really? that sucks. can I just cover the whole thing with heatshrink? or will it still corrode?

unless you use heat shrink tape, you'd have to take it all apart anyway because the heat shrink used from the begining would be a tube and have gone on befor you solder your connections...i'd solder it and heat shrink...you'll never worry about it again...!

Alright.

Man i tell ya it was a pain! but everytime I see those halos it's orgasmic. Tight as ****.

the best thing to do is remove the splices. if you are not willing to do that (too lazy, sorry but those splices suck ass and need to go) then cover the whole thing in chaff tape!! it only sticks to itself and it resists corrosion. i get mine through the military but summit sells it!!
it is expensive but if you do not want to solder i highly recommend it!!

rob

fine fine...I'll solder. Who gives you the chaff tape? you in the mil?

ya i am a AT in the military. at= avionics electronic tech.

i tend to borrow some for personal use!!

Angel Eyes Advice for a Novice

Hi guys! I'm new to this forum but I registered because I need some advice My husband just bought his Mazda last fall (2006 Mazda3- 4door) and I wanted to get him some nice accessories for his birthday (the end of July). I wanted to get him Angel eyes, because he's always talking about them. If you guys could let me know:

-Which ones to get (brand, name or model number)
-How much they cost (approximately)
-Where can I buy them (preferably online)
-How do you install them? I saw on these forums that people did their angel eyes themselves but is there any way I can pay someone to do it for him and avoid him the trouble?
-Also, they are street legal right? (we live in ny).

thanks so much for the help. I'm really lost here but I really want to get him a gift he'll love. Would Xenons would be nicer? I don't know. Any help you could give me would be great. You can post here or send me an email at middlesister7@optonline.net.

Thanks again!
