final drive ratio q?

went and got the gears yesterday, word of advice if anyone is trying this... cordless impact and punch set and it will fly by, i tried without both so it took 3 seperate trips to the junkyard lol. so ill let everyone know how well it works when im done
 
ok so i just got it all done and its longer but barely lol, worth it if you want 2-4 mph faster topped out, not sure on mpg gain but we will know soon
 
not really sure on the festiva, not really even sure if its possible. just read alot on probetalk and seen gears they were using. have had the escort gear for about 2 weeks or so now, getting about 1-2 more miles per gallon so slightly worth it. kinda want to find a festiva gear and put that in if its possible, wanted more then i got the rpm drop is very minimul and that was more of a goal then the mpgs
 
new question if anyone is still reading this... has anyone taken a final drive out of another tranny and swapped it out...? the escort that i pulled the gear off has a 3.850 final drive..... i was on probetalk again...(unamused) and they said the escort final drive was to big for their trans but wondering if it is for ours... hmmmmm

my other thought is swapping trannys and using my bell housing.. only prob that i could figure is axles... hmmmm
any help is always much appreciated
