i've got a 1991 mazda 323, sohc 1.6, 5spd with some mods like exhaust(straight pipe with exception of muffler) My question is - is there a way to create fire shooting exhaust with out having to by a kit. Ive worked on mazdas for a few years now professionally, but none of my co workers can give me a straight answer. I have a theory of how to do it but let see what you think.
-----The tps sensor(throttle position sensor) increases injector activity at
wide open throttle and dumps more fuel. It does this by sending the referenced 5 volts back to the pcm. If a momentary switch was installed between the sent out signal and signal return this would run full rich with a press of a button whether at idle or 50% throttle. With the exhaust hot enough would this work?

Run it really rich put a spark plug in the muffler tip run wiring from the plug to power and a button and there you go fire out the ass of your 323

Worked Obviosly you have no expirience with the B6. No it will not work and it would be stupid to try. unless of course you enjoy destroying engines....

here's an Idea. Why don't you hook up some NO2 to the muffler tip so you get a blue flame like on Need For Speed Underground.

The kit would prob be cheaper than your time spent trying to figure out how to do it on the cheap and ruining something in the process. Be sure to post pics though.
