Fender Flares install ?

I got my whole 9piece body kit from WW when it first came out. Ordered it before the release date. I would say I was one of the first if not first to get it(other than sponsored rides of course). The whole kit is polyeurethane. held on by tape just like was said and the the pieces that goes along the inside of the fenderwell is screwed on. A good bodyshop will take the tape off and use a strong glue. Also as a notice, you dont have the WW bumper and the piece of the front fenderflare that goes on the bumper doesn't go all the way down due to the design of the front bumper(those canards on the side). I say go turbo. Only reason I went aesthetic mods on my Pro was because I did them when there were no real reputable performance mods out for our car. But now I am stuck with having to finish the body mods. Now I am going to mold the fenderflares and whole kit to the car to make it look like it is part of the car and then repaint the car. Should run about $4-5k. yippee am I happy. GET THE TURBO!!

Also, now that WW and VIS joined forces with VIS being the "parent", excpect anything VIS sells to be fiberglass

How do you go about molding the fender flares and kit to the car? About how much does that cost doing those two things alone?

Im in the same boat as you though. When I started with all my aesthetic mods, there wasn't anything at all available to me for performance. I was relegated to the fact that my car would never be fast so I might as well make it LOOK fast. That way I can just cruise all over the place and look good as opposed to drive by fast and have no one notice the car. But now since HiBoost has made a kit for me (a 1.6er) Im kinda in the middle of my body mods and engine mods. But if I had a chance to do it all over again, Id get the turbo kit 1ST and then do everything else in the same order again.

i was in the same boat as you thats why my car was a show car at first. then when he came out with the kit, i jumped on it to have a lil bit of both worlds (appearance and speed) ...

i dont think its a good idea to mold the kit to the car cuz any lil contact with the bumper, and the molding will crack. thats one reason. another reason would be that after time it WILL start cracking and it will just need to be sent to the body shop again. i was thinking bout molding my kit to the car but these reasons kept me from doing so

what are you saying mia? I dont get the bumper cracking thing? I'm molding the fender flares to the fenders and the sideskirts to the car to give it a more fluid look and the rear lip to the bumper. I don't think it'll crack unless I get into an accident. and if I get into an accident, it would have been fubbard anyways

Im still not sure if Im going to mold the kit. I was just curious to see how it would look and hold up. I think my car looks fine the way it is with the kit on the way its installed. I figure, if anything, I can leave the kit the way it is now, save for the HiBoost turbo kit (because Im so friggen turbo-envious of you and everyone else who has/had one), and then at a later time maybe mold the kit to the car. But my main goal right now is to start building up the tranny now (torque converter, valve body) and then buy the HiBoost kit.

dont mind me ... ur kit is urethane ... what i said only goes for fiberglass ... molding fiberglass and non fiberglass usually leads to cracking with time

hell fiberglass itself will stress crack over time ..
This is not true....Get your facts straight...It just wont crack from nothing...FG is very durable. And as far as molding...If done correctly ,it will hold up very well.

tell that to my fiberglass front bumper.. i got alot of stress cracks around edges.. and i never hit a thing..

Just be cause its FG doesnt mean it was properly made....And Pressure from air While moving could cause it if it is too thin...Vibration and impact from bumps I guess doesnt count huh?(boom07)

i would only be able to get vis, cause they are fiberglass, i would have to modify the front ones to fit my front bumper, but i bought lowering springs instead for now..

Are you putting on your springs yourself or going somewhere to get it done? I have my Eibachs sitting in my parent's garage waiting to be put on, but I don't know how to go about switching out my old ones with the Pro Kit.

i do it myself, my dad owns a auto repair shop, u need spring compressors to compress the springs.. if not, when u release the top nut the spring will shot into the ceiling.. very dangerous, if you dont have the tools, get a shop to do it..

Any idea as to what that might cost? Just a guesstimate??

well, i would have put them on myself, but i got screwed on ebay , never got product and got the seller banned for life... ...
