honestly, i think it is perfect to suit YOUR needs. however, if you're going to spend $450 on a HU, i would advise you to look around.

i know you want to keep your interior close to stock, and you like the red display because it matches, but it's a waste of money. for $450 you could buy a damn nice alpine. so what if it has a pocket, its a place to store cds (or in your case, tapes). if it was $200 i'd say go for it if its what you want, but for that much i say, NO!

dude , ken. since you hate pockets so much.GET A PEICE OF BLACK PLEXIGLAS and put it under the HU. i did this in my moms when she didnt have the MP3/MSP pocket. it worked fine, never came out. now she has my MSP pocket, and its soooo ugly
