awww damnit.. i wish i could have submitted.. i woulda taken a picture my work's big hug black box we call a mainframe.. it would have made all computer geeks drooling helpesly on thier keyboards.

Topic was mechanical...not electronics....So wouldn't have really been appropriate....

well we do have a mechanical robot that manually loads 60 gig hard drives into our AS/400.. its pretty freaking cool.

No more voting...ProtoType5 earned it fair and square!

I say lets start the new round early, even if it has to be for fun instead of a prize.

Next topic: Light Painting your Mazda

NVP5White FTW!!!!!!!!!!!

Not really....A well planned photo with a nice background, hot babe, and lighting might take the cake....NO PHOTOCHOP NECESSARY....

This shot is a compliation of 4 exposures, IIRC. It was about 15 minutes after sunset so it was pretty dark. I used a flashlite with a gobo to keep the light from being directly visible to the camera. Isections off the car and did each seperatly: Side, wheels, font, streak across the top.

I layed them up in PS7. I selected the sunset I liked best and made that the base layer. I used Layer Masks to selectively show areas of the other exposures. I was pretty successful in keeping the exposure consistant except for the wheel which were over exposed a bit.

I think I ran the final exposure through Neat Image.
