Fast E/T's

I dont run my car that low i just drove it that low so i could get most the 93 out of it when i put in the 87 i usualy run 93. As for hurting the compresion walls you mean the cylinder walls i would thing the rings would break before the walls had any affect. And on the 87 all the time thing i have checked everywhere and i have yet to see it in black and white from mazda that 87 will hurt or void anything but car&driver tested with 91.

i knew running low on fuel was bad for the fuel pump, but i heard its bad for your turbo as well...

damn man... if your sig is right, you must be ripalippin'. haha.

Saying running lower octane fuel makes your car faster is probably one of the dumbest things I have seen on this forum...today. Starting to think this forum is being taken over by noobs :(

I may not know s*** about cars but I don't go around telling people to run low octane gas in their cars. (notcool)

not bad for the turbo, but very bad for the piston and cylinder walls.

as for my car, me likey lots.:D

that is only a sugestion it is not madatory even thoe i do run 93 in it most of the time but i have found that 87 gets better gas milage and runs alil quicker at the track. I tried it on the car cuz it work that way for my motocross bike 87 burns faster so it made the bike faster.
this use is clearly a moron and should be ignored.
87 octan will do 1 of 2 things to an ms3.

1 cause seriouse detonation and engine damage.

2 the ecu will see it and pull tons of timing and the car will be super slow.

Everyone is right if you have a high performance car or close to it you should run nuthing but 93 or 91 in it but all i was saying is that i tryed it and took it to the track and i ran alil bit faster that night.

Don't know how much the gas had to do with the car running faster. Could have been other factors. I wouldn't credit low octane fuel with the faster time.

i mean cuz i took out all the weird stuff to try to save weight like spare tire head rest rear seat wipers and droped my front tire press to 22 psi and uped my read tires to 55 psi and got the tires nice and hot so i had a real good launch and i dont see how it could get any faster than that stock before i did all that i was running low 14s

i think 13.8 is possible but not 13.6. where's your time slip mr. i have the fastest cars in the world? eww, why are you jacking him off?

well for my experiences running lower fuel in my msp lead straight to a very nice limp msp with pinging in my engine bay everytime i was in 4.5k and up rpms. that was when it was stock well i had an axle back on. don't know what it would do to an ms3 as for me i will not try it at all. also i live on the big island of hawaii and if you wanna talk about humid. huntington is nothing to hilo. especially if the track is emitting steam from the ground due to the rain delay and waiting for the sun to dry up the track. my friend lives in orange county next to seal beach and i visited him for a summer and huntington was 10 min away from his house. been there and passed there numerous times. its hardly anything near hilo. so i really don't see how your trap would be affected by it cuz my trap speed is consistent on a really humid day and a good sunny day.

Full of s*** huh? Believe what you like (jerkit)
it's very simple.

you state that you ran a 13.6@89mph
nothing else

I don't like to assume.
was this 1/4 mile or 1/8 mile?
was this actually in your ms3, or your s/c 5.4?
what da level was it at?
day or nite?
tailwind or headwind?
downhill or uphill?

you get the point, so don't try and be aloof, just be real.(shrug)

You know after my post yesterday i actually kind of felt bad for busting out haltech, but since i see that others felt the same i don't feel so bad.

I do believe a 13.6 MIGHT be possible, on slicks, HARD launch, planets align, Alla blesses the driver, etc.........etc................

Look the point is haltech and any other internet jockey's........ Lying to impress makes you look like a ******* idiot..........PERIOD. If you were atleast going to make a bulls*** claim, Damn, do some research first and get the numbers straight. Now had you said man i ran 13.6 ON SLICKS @ 100-102 mph with a 1.8X 60 ft. THAT Sounds feasible. Your earlier comment shows EVERYONE on the board you are a person BEGGING FOR ATTENTION. Well you got it now , so whacha waiting for ...................(attn)

Infantry low life.......... like stated earlier, Damn that has to be a canidate for one of the longest run on sentences. Please tell me my tax dollars are doing better than this. (mswerd)

Back on subject......... i haven't ran the 1/4 and might not ever, but 1/8th times are as follows
9.6@77mph (twice) 60 ft 2.3
10.1@76.......................3.01
9.7@ 77........................2.43
9.9 @77........................2.51
10.04@75......................2.34 Missed a 2-3 shift
the Last 4 passes were done by my wife, the first 2 by me. she had one other but i dunno where the slip is.

NOW with this said neither my wife or I LAUNCHED the car. it was her first time at the track and i didn't want to chance any wheel hop.

With a calculator the above numbers show i could do a 1/4 in 14.99 @ 95, but we all know that turbo cars back half the track usually faster than there N/A counterparts.........

So lets keep the ET's coming.........................(drive2)

Oh one other comment......... Usually the first thing to go from detonation would be a Head gasket IF your lucky. if not a PISTON. Any other damage on the cyl walls would occur from having the loose piston and rod slapping around in the engine. oh you will not harm your ms3 on 87 octane. it just won't run as good.
A manufacturer has to take into consideration, DUMB ASSES, who feel the need to run cheap no name gas. So they set the knock sensor to pull the appropriate amount of timing once knock is detected.
I promise this, that no MS3 here would blow up after 10 years or what ever just from running 87.

1/8th mile track times, first time out with the car and it was like 30-35 degrees out, stock.
1) Reaction:.7913
60ft:2.3699
1/8et:9.43
mph:79.27

2) .5980
2.3422
9.44
78.22
