Fairbanks Mazda in Orlando FTW!!!

Good Morning guys,

Just got my car back this week after finally taking it in for what appeared to be power loss in 2nd and 3rd gear followed by a slight hesitation and shudder coming from the car.

I went in and also brought along the TSB for the fuel pump and went on a quick ride to confirm what it was that I was feeling. They gave a new Mazda 3 rental car for the afternoon and told me they would call me the next day.

Well I got her back and all I can say is she is indeed fixed! 2nd and 3rd gear now feel the way they originally did and pull like a freight train (exaggeration! but you know what I mean). I am of course all stock but their handling of the issue and quality of the work done are top notch!

I am very happy with the end result!

it took 4 miles to reach 50 mph? ;)

LOL, pretty much. They check a number of parameters such as ignition, also unplugged the o2 sensors and ran some tests. They then determined that it must have been the fuel pump.

Originally they felt it might be coil pack or an o2 sensor but all tests determined it was not electrical or a signal. However I can certainly confirm that I feel a hands down difference between those two gears despite amount of time driven or temp outside.

yeah, those guys are pretty good about getting your car done in a timely manner. and they will put you in a rental car even if the car will be done a couple hours later that day. Cory Fairbanks sales department are a bunch of scumbags, but their service department is awesome.
