Factory Sirrus install

just bought an '08 Mazda 3 GT w/ tech package. The owners manual has the user manual for the Sirrus turner and there is an antenna on the roof. However when I access the SAT button, nothing happens. Where should I be looking for the tuner to see if it has become disconnected?.

Any help appreciated.

I believe the tuner is behind the glove box.

If it was installed by the dealer then the receiver should be behind the paneling in the trunk/cargo area on the passenger's side.

When was your car built? Is it a '08 or a '08.5? It's possible that sirius was installed but then disconnected so that the ACI could be plugged back in as in the '08 model the two were mutually exclusive unless you added the switchbox. On the '08.5 the harness for sirius was changed to allow both to plug in without the switchbox (though the harness was more expensive too).

I would just pull the HU out of the dash and look around to see if there are any loose harnesses floating around back there.

Mazda was pretty sneaky with mine. It was neatly zip tied to one of the other wire harnesses.

When was the cut over date to 8.5 and what do you mean by ACI? This is actually my wife's ride so I doubt I can talk her into allowing me to pull the HU. I can probably get away with looking behind panels.
