I would think with the 2017 models not being too far out they'd be
starting to discount the pricing for the 2016 a little more.
Seriously? Given that we're still in 2015, I'd be curious about your definition of "not too far out".

'16 CX-5's started showing up at Mazda dealers in early to mid February of 2015.I wouldn't be surprised considering the '16s started showing up in December '14 IIRC.. I think the '15's started showing up around the same time or 1/14.

I got a quote from a dealer on a 2016 CX5 with a $34,000 MSRP. The dealer is offering it for $32,120 which INCLUDES the $500 owner loyalty rebate. This DOES NOT include tax, title or doc fees.
Should I keep pushing for a lower price?
Did you look at the prices thread here on this forum?
Looks like some people got $2k-$3k below MSRP so my price is right at the cusp of $2k below. I can try and fight for another $500 or so.
Stupid doc fee is $500 which is very high.
Are there other dealers in your area to play against this dealer?
Normally it takes about 2~3 weeks from Japan to LA once your new CX-5 got loaded on the ship. If you don't have any port installed options, it can get loaded on the truck heading to your dealership within a week after the car arrives the Long Beach assuming the partial strike from the port workers have ended. In any event the dealer has capability to check the arrival date of the ship, when does the CX-5 get loaded on the truck, and when does the truck arrive the dealership.Dealer said my car went from scheduled to "produced" so I am assuming it's ready to ship across the ocean.
How many weeks before it arrives at port in LA?
When did you place the order? And were you not be able to find a CX-5 you want in the inventories at the port of entry and on the water?
OK. Now at least you' get a brand new CX-5 exactly what you want with single digit miles on it! Just takes a bit more time.None of the built vehicles had the color and options I wanted. Soul Red with parchment interior, AWD, GT, i-ActivSense, etc. Most were FWD and the only AWD they had were missing the Soul Red and Parchment interior, the rest were missing the i-ActivSense option.
