F20C powered AE86 Corolla!!!! Mag worthy

This is my buddies car that i did a fully built N/A 12.5:1 compression, BC stage 2 cams, golden eagle sleeved block, acl bearings, Fidanza flywheel, ACT extreme pp with 6 puck sprung disk, Ap1 6 speed trans. Custom driveshaft done by Southwest driveline.

I fully built the motor, did a complete body harness using only the essentials such as brake lights, tail lights, turn signals, hazzards, headlights, wipers, and fuel pump harness and then wired up the complete engine harness. Custom built center, Wiring is all tucked away.

My buddies friend did the complete paint job in Speedway Blue ( Toyota Tacoma) and the owner of the car installed the j blood body kit and jdm front corner lights. He also helped me with putting in the motor and basic stuff.

Anyways here are some final product pictures and stay tuned for some rolling vids and vids of the tach while driving. Breakin still being done right now.

lol, its the way the camber is set on the front, it has full techno toy tuning t3 coilovers with both upper and lower camber adjustment plates. He just hasnt had an alignment done yet and had them set. Right now if im not mistaken its set to full negative camber.

But i assure you they are not falling off. haha

They just look that way. I was always thinking it might have something to with drifting.
 
its nice but i wouldnt say mag worthy, the outside looks kind of weird with all those body pieces being black and riveted on

Are you airlifting it to shows? If not, was the tow hook exploding from the hood like a freshly hatched alien baby really neccesary? Interesting, I suppose, but I don't think swapping one 4 banger out for another and riveting a wing on makes a car magazine worthy. At least scrub the rust off the exhaust mani before sending the pictures to I.T. ok?

i personaly not a s2k swap fan... just dosnt do it for me.. when toyota has so many motors 2rz 3rz 3sg.. if you were to keep n/a form.. and no dont like 4ag version of motors.. but they do get power in but just parts are so expensive..

F that, there is no good toyota 4 cylinder that would as easily drop in as this motor. Yes they are cheaper but when you have an n/a 9200 rpm rev limited motor making approx. 270whp (btw which is almost as much as a stock 2jz motor that would not be a very good swap for this car anyways) what more can you ask for. Not only that this motor will be reliable and take a beating all day long every single day, smooth shifting trans, short gearing, Again a perfect combo.

Man i figured there would have been more props but man how that has gone the opposite way. Yes there are a couple little things that can be done before its good to go but even as is i would say its mag worthy when all cleaned up, buffed out, and detailed. Ive seen way worse swaps and way worse cars in popular mags than this car. Its got all the right stuff. Its a race/drift ready car. Who cares if the spoiler is riveted on? Mags dont because ive seen it all the time when they feature these kind of cars. This isnt your everyday clean street car. Its a purpose built road coarse/drift car that will kick some serious ass. plain and simple no questions asked.

But hey to each his own and everyone has opinions. So thanks.
 
still not a fan of the ap1/2 motor.. im more of a turbo guy.. but in na form i would still take the 3sge beams or 2rz..(me personaly) of corse its easy to drop in a s2k motor.. mounts kits are sold.. but for me 3sge and 2rz are easy... like i said i assume its good for scca or drift.. im not into that.. im into drag racing.. were on diffrent coast so were arent going to agree..and i honestly dont care for crossbreading cars.. i do it all the time...but do me a favor make some radiator brackets for that car.. i didnt mention 2j im not going to compare a 4cyl with a 6.. and i mount the 2j's with out touching the firewall...but keep on its ur car.. im not here to change ur mind.. just in my eyes not mag worthy.. but im shure funn street car..

ehh its not my car either but i did build it, hahaha so i do take pride in it.

I love the car and i think if you drove it especially with the high comp and cams you would think otherwise. Its up there as one of the most fun cars i have driven and ive driven a lot of cars. Great handling, awesome power, short gears and a heavenly engine sound. What more could you ask for?
 
i drive up to 8 sec "street corollas" im shure that car in n/a form its nice moves the light weight of the ae86 body makes a good contender.. in the video looks like it moves.. what gearing are you using still oe 4.30? i would do 4.88

its the GTS rearend with a 4.30 trd lsd 2 way. I dont think making the gears even shorter would be wise. They are already short has hell already.
 
you would be surprised... more acceleration out of a turn.. keeps you a little more in power band.... but 430 is a ok street gear.. s2k come what 477 456 ?
