Picked it up Saturday from Avante Mazda in Toronto (fantastic dealer). Man, what a terrific car. Its going to be so hard to break it in properly. I've got 200 km on in already, and its seen 4000 RPM about 4 times and 5500 once (had to merge quickly). :p

Got a few questions though:
1) My A/C button doesn't indicate whether or not the A/C is on or off when my headlights are on, but does when the headlights are off. Has anyone else had this issue?

2) Do us Canuks have a proximity alarm or not?? This morning when I unlocked my car with the fob it beeped 5 times and the red alarm light was flashing rapidly - as if someone had messed with the car. Was someone actually trying to mess with the car, or did the alarm get tripped by a loud car going by in my parking garage?

3) Do I need to do anything to the stereo settings other than set them to the "recommended" settings on the card that came with the car? I remember people saying they had to turn on the subwoofer after the fact; should I look into that?

No clunk yet (wait until winter), no hesitation, just a lot of grins! And 2 Spec V's trying to race me! (mspo)

No one I can remember has had the A/c button issue.
My MP3 does not have the light on unless the dial is on atleast 1.

The subwoofer will have to be switched back on if the battery is disconnected or run dead. Just hold down the AM button for 3 seconds to enable it if that happens.

Grimace, I'm soo happy for ya dude! I really was hoping you'd get yours soon

Anywho....9 times out of 10, the recommended settings suck. Play with it a bit.....if you can stop driving it long enough :)

I am quite happy with the recommended settings, only I set the Bass to +4, instead of 0.

Grimace, I hope to see you and your car at some AutoXes this summer!!!!

congrats!

Yes, you do have a proximity alarm that should be set to a VERY sensitive level. I had to turn the sensitivity knob way down. My guess is that it's going to be the same thing for you. A loud car could easilly trigger my alarm.

I think everyone is gettings it's MSP these days! I've been having mine for more then a month now, and I've never seen another MSP on the road until last week! Actually a came across 3 MSPs last week only!!

Enjoy the ride ;-)

Nice to see another MSP owner !Welcome to the world of boost!

Matt:D

I haven't seen the AC issue but they sure send the cars out with the alarm on super sensitive. My alarm would go off if a car drove by. It's turned way back now an no more honking

ForceFed- Orange is the only colour we can get in Canada.

Grimace - Someone must have drove by your car at night and set it off with a loud exhuast. It happens to me all the time, and it gets me thinking someone was messing with the car. But don't worry, the rapidly blinking light means that it was a shock/vibration that caused it to go off.
I'll check on the a/c light for you....i've only had it on once when it was really hot that other day.
Have fun driving around..I hope to see you on the road one of these days.
:)
COngratulations once again!! :D

Reeaaalllyyyy!?!? I did not know that.I learned something new today!Thats always a good thing!:D

Congrats Grimace! You'll love the car.

I already have 2300 km on it already in about a month and I don't drive it to work at all since it's within walking distance.

Heck, I feel like going for a drive right now.

Grimace, I have the A/C switch issue on my car. The dealer currently knows no fix for it. They have replaced the alarm system once now and that has solved a few electrical related issues.

awesome dude, I am sure you will find it was worth the wait ;)

1) I have not tried A/C with my lights either so not sure if mine does it, I will try it later and see

2) My alarm is way to sensitive as well, at work there are transport trucks driving by every few minutes and every few minutes you can either hear my car beep the horn or set off the alarm :( I need to adjust the damn thing

3) I found that most songs did not play well from MP3's with the stock settings, the radio was ok but I still like to adjust the settings to get a better sound.

Grimmace,

Congrats, and as for the alarm issue, you have to turn that sucker down. When they prep the car for you, they crank that sucker's sensitivity up to max.

SO when someone even breathes on it weird it beeps (why it beeped 5 times.. that means someone bumped it)

Congratulations Grimace! I know from seeing you here and on the RX-8 forum that you have been waiting a long time. Enjoy! Hope the break-in period doesn't drive you too nuts.

On the alarm thing:

I am at work so I can't look this up, but there should be an alarm guide in with your owner's manual. Different numbers of beeps are codes for different things but I don't know what five beeps means. You should be able to find it in the manual though.

There is a little black box with a white know and no label on it near your steering column under the dash. The knob is the sensitivity. Strange thing is, unlike everybody else, mine came from the dealer with the knob all the way down. For awhile I wasn't even sure I had a shock sensor.

Might want to check your A/C light and be sure it still doesn't come on if you change the temp know position.

Enjoy your beautiful new baby!

Congrads on your new MSP Grimace!!!(thumb) I hope that everything goes well with your break-in period.

As for your alarm issues, check your owner`s manual under the alarm section. It will tell you all the nifo that you need to know.

As for the a/c button....possibally a factory glitch. When I got mine, it took two days for my dealership to straighten out some of the bugs in my system. After the prep of my ride, I had problems with the lighting of the interior of my car, as well as the sound system going on the fritz. I took it back the next day and they fixed the problem. Just hang in there.....your dealer will take good care of you!!(2thumbs)

And once you get your ride free of glitchs.....you can get your MSP and "Zoom-Zoom!!"(rockon)

Grimace, i used the A/C today and i turned on my headlight. There's no issue with my A/C light turning off complety. Although mine does dim significantly. It's still visible though. Probably a lot brighter at night.
