I have over $6000 in mods done to my car only to get 123whp and 158wtq!I only clock a 15.7 in 1/4 mile!this s*** is getting stupid.I am boostin this POS!I am done doin N/A!I am gonna get the MAM built block,thumper kit,626 manifold,polish head and run 14psi and stop modding.I am goin to the dark side!
what king of whp do you think this setup will get me?thanks
 
Well MAM is *suspended* right now I guess... so I don't know what you can do in that department... they made good stuff when they were in business... but I don't know what is up these days..

But... assuming 14 psi and good tuning and the like with what you've got listed there... you could hit about 300 at the ground.

outstanding! so there is hope for my car yet?I am going directly to the MAM site.I am from AZ origonaly so i can have it shipped to my moms house in az and build a drop in motor there and when it is done then i will ship it to where i am currently stationed.(NC)

well i ordered my engine in june and its dec...

so that what he meant. I dont think it matters how close u are.

oh yea. welcome to the darkside!
 
wow already $6k spent. now you have to spend at least another $13k and if you want more on the drivetrain, so more$$. man, if you wanna throw some more money around call me so I can catch some :p

you think thats bad!I ordered an intake manifold from essential speed before i knew any better and that was september 04!still havent got it!thanks for the welcome.(thumb)

Or you can do it through me for the same price (2990, plus 500 core, plus shipping) with Oliver Rods and CP pistons and have it in roughly 6 weeks.

yeah I know.I am pissed! with that amount I coulda gotten a street sleeper kit and a built block buy now!(argh) :mad: (pissed) (cryhard)

well build block will run you 3K roughly... turbo kit will be about say 4Kish.... then EMS.. 1.5K (JandS and a Microtech), misc about 1.5K... thats about 10K to go... and be well well setup. Then trans etc would be the iffy thing... 3K or less there.. .so 13K and he'd have drivetrain covered too... and 300+ reliable horses.
 
Same thing with me. I havent brought my car to a dyno before and I dont think Im over 120whp N/A. Thats why I'll be boosted soon. I'm not going to go 14psi until im built in the future. I'll be at 9psi and be happy. Good luck on your plans.
 
the good thing is that that money wasnt wasted because all my mods besides the AWR header and the AEM intake will work great with boost!(thumb) (first)

anyway, got a question. What is done to the block you sell? Is it anything like what you did to yours? also how much is a worked head? and is there a special if we get this longblock combo? I'm just askin so I know if I have to sell 1 or 2 kidneys if I ever plan to go boostin
 
how much to build me a full race tranny that is reallly strong and can hold 400+whp?

Yeah.. the block is built to the same spec as the one in my car... same clearances etc... roughly speaking:

Align hone
Decking
Full rotating assembly balance
precision ring fit
Polished block interior (main webs, casting flash removed)
ported oil pump
chamfered and smoothed oil return and feed passages
bored, honed to RA spec for rings
painted to your color choice (black or NSN blue "default" colors :) )
Oliver Rods
Toga Bearings
CP Pistons

and probably a few other things I'm not thinking of... but yeah.. it's basically my short block which has obviously been well proven :)

I can do the head as well if you needed.. same PandP that is in mine.. but it isn't cheap.. the head PandP is like 720... and then valve work is about 400ish... my guy just isn't cheap... but he is good and I trust him. He's also been doing it for 20+ years and does ridiculous stuff!
