Exhaust too loud

I have 2 1/4" exhaust with 4-1 header , one aftermarket cat and 2 straight trough resonators.

When I drive around in town , then I like the sound but , when driving on highway in 5th gear and over 3000rpm-s, then the sound goes so lound that it disturbs me and the passengers.

I remember from somewhere that with some exhaust manufacturer there was this pipe that goes in the muffler, which quieted the exhaust down. Is there a way that if I but some cap where is a smaller hole in it, on the exhaust tip, that it would make the car quieter?

I actually have a straight trough resonator at the end with the OBA tip

the "silencer" would be tip-specific... you could buy a different muffler that has such a silencer

But how does that silencer works? If I know that, then some exhaust company could make it for me.

Is there maeby some pics or some info , someone who has it?

You might be stuck with it. Normally an exaust will come with a silencer if it is available.

I would guess that you probably need a different muffler.

Nope

Instead of the muffler I have a resonator at the end. At first I didn't even have a cat

a resonator is no different to a muffler internally if it's the straight through cannon style. they do the same thing.

i'd suggest swapping the rear resonator, move it to inline under the car and get a muffler at the rear with a silencer. the silencers make a huge difference. as a test i had a mate talk normally through the muffler i have w/o silencer and his voice was about 1/2 volume. when he put the silencer in, i could hardly hear him.

u know ther are some silencers that u can put in ur exhaust pipe.. they really help..

he was talking about a muffler you could buy off ebay or somthing similar that comes with a silencer
