exhaust tips wholes in your MS6...

For those of you that have cut/trimmed the rear exhaust tip hole in your MS6 to look just like a cut out not a hole, can you post pictures? I'm thinking of doing this but haven't found good examples.

I remember seeing one awhile back on car domain. That guy had two of those huge HKS carbon fiber cans under and looked pretty sweet.

I know what you mean. Those exhaust tips and surrounds are the only thing cheesy about our cars.... Mazda design dept really dropped the ball on that one.

The thing is I really want to do away with those and do an exhaust upgrade, but Im in a professional field where I often make house calls and cant afford to have my car sound like Im a 17yr old racer.

Im lookin for a good mix of form and function.

I agree the muffler tips were to small.... but I think the tips are far from cheesy...... If you put after market mufflers with 2.5 or 3 inch tips it looks just fine. I have 2.5 inch tips and it looks fine. I have seen people who have cut out the rings and it makes it looked hacked IMO...especially when you put 4inch mufflers in there. The whole point of this car is to power with class !

True true.... i just think think they could have executed it much better. Maybe something rectangular... i.e. those Pontiac Bonneville that were driving around for a while.

I am actually looking at informative resources to lay my own carbon fiber, and if those can be cut out to look good, those pieces will be good candidates.... kind of a nice but subtl change, im not real crazy about the flat black plastic look of those.

The problem I'm stuck in this ship till tomorrow afternoon. So the computer can only entertain me so much. My pay is the same as being here or on my couch.

Ya, I'd like to see some pics too.
I'd like to get a cat-back system, but I don't want to have to remove the exhaust inserts in the bumper.
(don't like the look of the little tips hitting in the big inserts...at all)

Thats it in a nutshell ! I think 2.5 is about as big as you can put inside the inserts or you will most likely rattle. I think boostedspeed6 cut his bumper and removed his rings with 3 inch tips out the back.... it looks pretty good. I couldnt find the thread with pics but maybe you can find it or PM him

Nope, I'm in the Navy. My pay is the same 24/7 no matter what I'm doing(unless deployed). Even during vacations.
