After almost 2 years of saving up... I can finally begin doing the first mods this summer(rockon) (Hey its Canada everything is twice as expensive and taxed like hell)

So I've already decided on which intake to get but I am still undecided with the exhaust. I am in between the JIC 505sus or the Greddy EVO.

I've done the searches and found that performance wise they're pretty much the same (correct me if I am wrong). Except one thing SOUND....

I've already heard Funwagon's JIC and I am loving it!!! but I've got to hear the Greddy EVO's. If anyone has it already please give your 02 cents by recording it or compare it to Funwagon's sound clip

Oh yeah, they're apparently in the 4000rpm range when recorded
Thanks

Oh come on guys....

No one has the GReddy EVO on the board...

If you have it, I don't expect you to record it (though I would appreciate it)....
At least compare it to the recording clip of the JIC...

Is it like it? Louder? deeper? or what?

CanMp5. Since you are using my sound clip as a refrence. I have heard the greddy and it is quieter than the JIC. For the most part Greddy exhaust are the quietest on the market. it is kind of one of their selling points. It does still sound good but I like the sound of the JIC more. BTW If you want or need more sound clips from the JIC I can do that for you , just let me know exactly what you want to hear. And as far as performance goes I can tell you that the JIC makes a huge difference. Maybe not huge in power but it makes it a completely different car. Really smoothes everything out and boy do I love 3rd gear now. Haven't had a single negative comment on my exhaust. Even from people that aren't in to imports. Hell even my mom likes the sound of it. Plus the JIC is one of the highest quality pieces I have seen for the P5. Perfect fit. beautiful welds

Thanks for the reply....:D

Well, the sound clip was good enough and your reference to the RPMs was really helpful. I don't find it that loud at all... and w/o the silencer... thats pretty good!

I am just kinda concerned about highway driving. The avg. speed on highways here is about +120kmh (+80mph) so I am usually between the 3000 to 4200 RPM range. Is it too loud?

Have you tried driving around with the silencer? It looks way too restrictive. I am assuming it takes away alot from the performance.

And again thanks!!

Bump.

I'd also like to hear some more about these exhausts, if anyone else cares to comment.

yes, i tried to order the Greddy EVO and was told it's back to production for a new design.. i decided to get the HKS Hi-Power rear section instead.. which I'm waiting for it to come in.. after I it's installed, I'll let you know how it sounds and feels..

do you have anything for us on that HKS fkmp5?

Ok...

Someone help me out here. I mentioned to a friend (that has a 90 Civic DX, B16, Headers, & a custom Magnaflow exhaust with silencer) that I was going to get a quiet exhaust that doesn't need a silencer. And he almost laughed at me saying if you want performance, it has to be loud. He told when he went to the shop he went to he said the same thing to the mechanic & the mechanic laughed at him & proceded to tell him what he told me.

So is this all false? I like the sound on Funwagon's P5 & he says the Greddy is a little quieter. I understand the basic function of a exhaust system, but is quiet performance a false statement?

All answers will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance...

I still don't have it!! I ordered the HKS, Injen and Eibach springs all from a shop around my way, and the Injen and Eibach are in, but the HKS should be arriving shortly.. afterwards, I'll be sure to follow up!!

I can't wait!!

To answer IMAX I would like to put up the following theory, Now i could be wrong but to me sound has nothing to do with perfomance unless ofcoarse you are running straight pipes then ofcorase its going to be loud! but, think of sound and how it travels it just bounces around off of objects and what not. so depending on the design of the muffler and pipes, free flow or not there all goign to have there unique tones. now this can be accomplished without putting restrictions like silencers and such. Personaly i like Greddy cause of its nice growl in the higher rpm and no "weedwacker on speed" sound. Just my .02 cents though.

THANK YOU!!!

For your input. I always appreciate those who are helpful... (drinks)
