Shamless plug but you can find my megan racing cat back for sale for 250 shipped....
i heard sound clips of megan b4.....i find it a bit loud

I really love my thermal exhaust. It's a little expensive but it sounds great. Especially after I put the wagner header and downpipe

whats the feedback on the GReddy EVO2 kit? deep? loud? drone??

have you used the "search" option with GReddy EVO2 in it? I found pages of hits and reviews.

You don't need to get the full cat-back from RB. If you call around to some dealers you can maybe find one that can get you the Mazda Sport Exhaust (Axle-back), made by
Racing Beat. That's what I have. It's also on the quiet side and doesn't drone at all.
Dealers can be overpriced but unless you find someone selling a used one I don't know of any other vendors.
If I don't forget I'll try and find the part number. I still have my receipt.

The Mazdaspeed or mazda sport exhaust (axle-back)you find at the dealer is not made by Racingbeat. Theyre made in S. Africa by Stromung (??)..this is what a local Mazda dealer told me. And they are not the same mufflers that came w/ MP3 and Mazdaspeed Protege which is made by Racing Beat.

good info!

could be why those drone, and the $379 Cat back Racing Beat does not.

I had read that it was made by Bosal. who knows...
you maybe right too. I think it is Bosal. Are they made in S. Africa?I got confused when I was typing it earlier cause a coworker was talking about his Stromung exhaust in his BMW...and I just come to think Strumung is German..who knows... But definitely not made by Racing Beat.

Then why does mine say "Racing Beat"?

dunno...mine doesn't. And I've actually got a Mazdaspeed P5 Axle back, and the axle back portion from a Mazdaspeed Protege, and the muffler on the MSP is about twice the size of the 1 on the P5 one.
Larger Muffler = no droning? I dunno, but I'm gonna go with yes on this one...

what are the bolt sizes on the flanges for the cat back and axle back sections?

my msp's stock exhaust is Racing Beat. I know this because it says "Racing Beat" on it (on the muffler, just not visible if the exhaust is not off the car).

Sounds like you have the MP3 / MS Protege exhaust.

Yeah, the Mazdaspeed Protege exhaust is a very different thing than the Mazdaspeed Axleback for the Protege5. One was the factory exhaust on the MSP, the other a dealer accessory for the Protege5 (they called it 'sport muffler' or something).

Wait, going back to the HKS,I wanted to get it in the past but I was told that the muffler heats up the hanger, which then breaks. Is this true??

i asked this question b4....but no one gave me an answer so i am going to ask again
Is HKS Hi Power exhaust with sliencer queiter than MS sport exhaust??? anyone tried both???
Now, i hv the MS axleback and find it a bit loud for my taste especially when i m going uphill(feel like my eardrums are going to pop). Since an used HKS axleback on sale is on sale in my area now with good price ($100CAD), I might sell my MS and buy the HKS(if it is quieter than MS) one
i need some advice
