So I got my exhaust installed today. Flyin Miata Exhaust from turbo to tip. WOW is all I can say. The sound is great, the pickup is better. :D My AssInTheSeat Meter definately noticed a significant change. Here are some pics taken while it was getting installed. Sorry for the crap quality, as it was my camera phone.

My intake kit just got charged to my account today which means it shipped, so it will be here next week and promptly getting installed.

They do have a dual exhaust kit, but the mazda speed kit was only 1 tail pipe which is all I wanted, seeing as how its the same thing, since both tips come out of the same muffler, I would only do dual if I could run two cats with two mufflers (you know, true dual). Not to mention i didn't want to cut into the back to make a round fit for the tip on the other side.

sweet, i thought that they had duel exhaust tho, does that kit only use one pipe?
No Miada ever had duel exhaust. but FM does make a muffler with 2 tips, one on each side. but you have to cut your bumper to accomidate the second tip if you go that way.

Looking good MX-5 how does the DP look?

So i guess it must be an easy install for the turboback exhaust. downpipe from the turbo easily accessible? i wish it was that easy to install a true turboback on an MSP. i helped a Dr.Sound install his Corksport S-pipe and it still took like 6 hrs todo.

Well I took it to a shop. They said, by far and away that was the easiest exhaust they had ever installed. Had I had access to a lift I would have done it my self. Took them just under 2hrs to do it. Everything (once all the braces were taken off) was easily accessible and easlily removed.

The mechanic kept giving a lot of love to Flyin Miata for a quality part well constructed to OEM specs and the fitting and ease of installation.

For the MSP, even on a lift it's hard to get access to the downpipe from the turbo. you have to remove alot of stuff to get at it. it must be the longitudinal engine that gives it some more room as the turbo isn't cramped up in the front of the car like the MSP.

anyways, glad to see a nice mod on a nice car. (thumb)

Yea, the turbo on the MSM is in the back of the engine bay by the firewall and on the bottom (or in that general vicinity) towards the center of the engine, just a little more toward the driver than the center, so that is why is was easily accessed.

Thanks for the compliment.

Glad to hear the install went well, and you're happy with the product. I have an '04 MSM and have been debating to do the FM system, this confirms the good results folks seem to be getting. I have a neighbor that has a 24 x 30 garage and has a full lift (he does vintage GTO restores) so he'll help me with the install. Gotta get it ordered!
