so.. here in kansas the temps dropped rahter drastically... it was cold as hell... and for some weird reason my car is having a hard time starting... i have TWO batteries and a cap in the 12v power issue... BOTH have lots o juice.. but the car just doesnt wanna crank over.. hell there is even a new starter... any ideas?
things ive tried

#1 cleaned the erg
#2 cleaned batter posts
#3 had autozone test my charging system... it is better then average.
#4 checked grounding cables, power cables and just about every thing else for corrosion.. there is none.
#5 made sure that all accessories are off... still no luck...

ANOTHER issue....
my exhaust seems to be getting louder in the cold weather... any ideas why? im seriously bout to try and find a new muffler... right now it is a tanabe super medalion, it is about to be a skunk2 mega power R 3''.... i might hold off on that though.. unless it might be quiter...

I don't understand your meaning of crank over? Starter not turning the engine? Or starter is turning the engine but the engine will not fire?

Most if not all fuels have enough additives to keep fuel lines from freezing.

when i turn the key the car is well " lazy" to turn the crank shaft around... it doesnt wanna turn over... like i have a dead battery... but i know for a fact i dont... as i said i have two brand new batteries.. that have been tested.. one is a kenetic 1600, and one is an optima yellow top...

as far as the fuel additives.. i have some in there.. i just forgot to post it.. i also have some octane booster

With winter fuel the fuel lines will not freeze, that's the purpose of winter fuel.

If it sounds like it's struggling to turn over, then maybe try plugging it in (unless you tried plugging it in), or use synthetic oil. I'm assuming that both the electrical and fuel system is not the issue based on your explanation.

take your battery to autozone or similar and have them test it, its free and if u need a new one they will tell you

have a NEW optima battery :-) ( yellow top ) and a Kenetic 1600... incase you dont know about kenetic batteries... the 1600 is an equaviliant to 10,000 farad cap.. but it is a battery... dunno how it works.. but i know it does... anyways.. it has more then enough power to start over.. it just sounds like t doesnt wanna... like it is dead almost.. but i know ( Via volt meter's ) that it isnt... and i know that the alt is charging... if the car is warm and i shut it off.. its fine... starts right up... hell even if it is a warm day... but... just in case ill go by autozone again...

as for the exhaust... I think it is just my ears.. because I didnt have my car for about 6 weeks... thanks to some vandals... and i had a quite ass truck... and now that i have my car back im realizing that it is LOUUUDDD

thanks for the suggestions guys i appreciate it
:-)

ur car might sound louder on start up because its cold, since it goes to like 2k when u start it on a cold day
or is the exhaust loud all the time? and if u have a brand new battery then i guess i could be the starter, or it just being cold
did u have this problem when it was warm?

New batteries can be dead too, depending on how long they sat on the shelf. and you might want to see how many cold cranking amps your batts have.

lol... i have a kenetik ( clicky here for info ) battery and a new freshly tested ( twice now ) optima yellow top.. I think it might be battery drain in the cold.. it has never done this before.. ( the temps were around 60 F ) now the temps are around 14 F.....

sigh... maybe ill trade the battery in and see what i get...

When was your last oil change? Perhaps you should try getting it replaced with some 5W-30 and see if that helps.

I totally agree. Living in Minnesota, I had that same problem last winter in my '89 Cadillac. I thought for sure that I would need to get a new battery. I changed the oil from 10W-30 to 5W-30 and it started right up and continued to start just fine through the rest of the winter.

replaced the starter, the oil, and the battery... and still keeping my kenetic... and it is cold as balls and t is still having that issue... and f.y.i it is a brand new motor....
