hey man i admitted they were faster than me and most other cars, but that doesnt mean i have to like them. and being a car enthusiast has nothing to do w/ repecting every car if some suck.....ahem like the srt, but anyways there is no point in trying to keep up w/ the stupid horse power numbers they put out especially when they come with close to 100 horse power more than the msp, so i dont know why you would even state that all i said is that the srt is going to bite the dust and hard, mark my words they will. and im not sure who said that the block was tested to 1000 horse power, but come on man are you absolutley stupid no way on this earth is that possible i have heard of very little stock factory cars blocks being able to handle that much and even those cars cost more than you ever hope to afford! so i'll tell you what somebody try it and see what happens, i dare ya!

First off, for everyone with insecurity problems - Yes it's a Neon, so what? I'm not afraid to admit where it came from. Ever hear of the GLH?

Now, this dude above - LMAO. It's going to bite the dust hard? Hold on, isn't there like a 1000+ hp SRT-4 Drag car using the stock crank, stock rods, and stock coil-pack? I could go get the magazine if you want man. Shaun Carlson (the driver) states how incredibly reliable the engine is. The engine is so durable the turbo is having a tough time keeping up, as someone already stated.

Currently, there's an SRT-4 in Texas making close to 450 whp w/ a boost leak, so 500 whp here we come. And that's with stock crank, stock pistons, stock rods, all stock internals. And he's going to keep pushing the car until it's limits of the stock internals - then he'll post the details, and continue building the engine up. Beautiful.

And just keep in mind; I love the MSP, and was in contact to by one if my local dealer didn't receive an SRT-4. What sold me on the SRT-4, was that it's much easier to upgrade the handling performance of the SRT-4, than the motor of the MSP. And I still haven't seen an MSP in person yet. Anyone near Westchester, New York? I'd love to experience the ungodly handling performance of the MSP. :D

It's only a Neon until you get beat by one; then it's an SRT-4.

STi is the most competant all around of the 3, but those prices arent exactly steals but if a $15,000 diff isnt enough to sway you in car choice.. I'm not sure paying $30,000 or a little less will either, so I'd grab the STi

UNLESS, you're a serious modder and want a truely original car, I'd mod the hell outta the MSP, get in magazines, and make some of the money spent back

i would love to see proof that it really is running 1000 hp on the stock block. lets not forget that this is a pro driver and they have the money a capability of rebuilding after every race w/ all the sponsors that they have, so they have no real worry's at all about the motor they can build to 1500 if possible for all i care. so when your friend building the 500 hp daily driven crap mobile is done let me know when she blows so you can kiss my ass. now im just getting sick of all of the bull s*** posts i dont care about the srt-4 so let it go i think they suck but i seem to be the only one so why do you guys even care what i think? please shut up!

All this neon talk...

Theres a neon that went 7.59@ 96mph on slicks in the 1/8th here.
I know its spraying at least a 75 shot, with exhaust, MBC, and some other susp work.
I dont know the details, but the car is faster than a known mid 11 FD rx7 that runs around here.

I havent seen an MSP get well into the 13s yet, and the neons are doing that stock.

I know the MSP shines on the auto x, but you gotta admit, racings past time is the straight line, put you in your seat, make you piss your pants, take your breath away speed.
The SRT flat out delivers that.
I dont regret my purchase, and i love my car, but i think if i were to do it again, id have gotten the srt4.
:D

FYI I have driven my friend's evo and STI. He has a 11.7 sec STI and a 12.5 sec EVO both using 114 octane racing fuel.... over 70k in the car each.... The EVO is his wife's car....

what kind of turbo are they using on the sti, because it sure as hell isn't the stock one, i have NOT seen an sti in the 11's i would love to see a video, or pics, or something...sounds like either you are lying or your friend is lying to you.

looks like the STi's beating the evo... :( too bad.. but then, i'm sure your purchase of a 30k car won't be based solely on the opinions of forum-goers. do your own research (namely test drives) and you can't go wrong with either car. i do hope you take my points into consideration though... always good to add to the evo community :) good luck!

Guys, were not doing this MSP vs. SRT-4 thing again. If you want to do that, then find one of the many numerous threads that have been made bashing the SRT-4. I bet most are gone now due to the flamewars that were started. Thread closed.
