Flashed in Tampa

I just drove 6 frikin hours to Tampa to have my car flashed under the advice of Dexter I think. Man what a difference. The gas mileage is better too. I'm so sure that a bigger intercooler would keep the power at its best at all times. But I have to say, I am ssooooo happy with the flash. I actually feel like I got what I paid for now. I was a little pissed at first. Thanks for all the post to help me get this done.

AbosluteOrange.... call your service manager and tell him you have a hesitation problem and you have heard of the ECU flash for your car, if he gives you s***, give him s***, dont take no for an answer

Santa Maria Mazda does the PCM flash. Most all Mazda dealerships should be able to do the PCM flash. But here's another addy just in case anyone on the central coast needs info.

SANTA MARIA MAZDA
1001 EAST BATTLES ROAD

FLASH WITH MODS

I just came back from rt 1 Sanson Auto Mall in NJ. The guys took about 1 and 1/2 hours working on the car. I went in with all my mods and they didn't say anything. 3" exhaust fp kit and MBC with a Blize TT. The car feels smooth but I dropped the psi from 10.3 to 7.5. I want to go back up to 9 psi but I am going to wait for the Injen Intake to come in.

Weisleder Mazda in Brick, NJ 732-892-8868
They were very pleasant and are aware of the flash upgrade. Unfortunately they are backed up for 2 weeks so I have to wait till 10/13 to get my car in. :( Maybe I shouldn't be so lazy and driver up to Sansone! LOL

Aw that sucks my car is going in there tommarow to get the alarm fixed I was hoping they could do the flash while its in there, haven't told them to yet. Is the flash a leave your car overnight type of deal or is it quick and painless? Weisleder guys I think are great haven't had a problem with them yet. Guess that's why they got rated best mazda dealership on east coast.

As it says earlier in this thread, with a competent (i.e. hard to find) service dept it should take about 1 hour.

I got my ECU reflashed in San Luis Obispo, CA. The computer system they use at Santa Maria, CA is down. I noticed more pull when I get in to the 3000rpm range. Also acceleration seems to be smoother.

Update: also another thing, it took 45 minutes to do the flash.

Actually just got it done today, they actually offered it to me, when I dropped off my car they mentioned the flash to me and asked if I wanted it done before I even could mention it to them, good thing too I almost forgot they listed done on the invoice as taking .4 hours. Amazing how the car is now, it's like the day I bought the car all over. :)

Just to let the MD MSP owners know, Schaefer and Strominger on Joppa road knows about that flash and did mine today along with fixing my crazy alarm in a little over an hour. Great service I believe the man to talk to is Mike, he was at the front desk when I went. The flash does make a difference in smoothness and power, it pulls even harder now. MSP's love 60 degrees and below weather as well.:D

Just got off the phone with Mazda NA:

A TSB will be issued (no date given) for the flash update. At that point, no one should have an excuse about why they don't have a clue.

In the interim, as it has been mentioned, have the dealer contact Mazda's Technical Assistance Center and they will be walked through the process.

Had mine done today!!!!!! NICE (naughty)
I haven't had a lot of time to have fun with it today, there's always tomorrow.... Town & Country Mazda in Middletown, CT knew about the flash and had it done in about 45 minutes, no questions.

Just dropped mine off to get done. I'll have to see if there's a difference tomorrow. For now, they put me in an '03 Civic.

btw, it'll be a day or two before you start to notice an extreme difference. you will definately notice a LOT more power when you get up to 3000+rpm

Just picked it up tonight right before closing. The only difference I noticed was that starting from first wasn't as strong. Would resetting the ECU help? I know they didn't do it since my radio presets were unchanged.

what do you think happens when you reflash the ecu? they can reset the ecu from their system, and when you reflash the ecu the settings are whiped.
