i'm looking to buy some new tires, preferably all-season tires.........any suggestions? I drove a P5 by the way :)
Hey everyone if you need tires I work at Sears auto center here in Grand Rapids. I can make some recommendations to ya and get you a good deal. We have a "friends and family" discount night this Sunday (Nov. 14) - I can get you an extra 10% off. We also do brakes, wheels, suspension, etc. (no engine work). Reply or PM if I can help you out

Jophus - 205/50R16 BFGoodrich Traction T/A is definitely your best bet - good balance of handling and traction.

DrummerJim: i can't seem to find these tires that you recommended me. Sears website says that they don't habe any tires for my car and discount tire only has a few 205/5016 size tires. Any idea as to what the price are for the BFgoodrich?

The website only has a very very small selection of tires that are available - they don't put hardly any on there for some reason - and Discount does the same thing. If you want to see the tire, go to tirerack.com and they'll have reviews and pictures and a description (http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires...earch=false&partnum=05VR6TTA&fromCompare1=yes)
You'll probably have to call a local tire place to get their price - plan on about $115-$120 a tire. If you don't want to spend that much, consider the Kumho ASX in a 195/50R16 for about $85 a tire - good tire but the tread life will be much less and snow traction will be less as well.

i always had a problem with taking the stock rims off the car. they froze to the rotors. my steel rims with my snow tires come off with no problem.....

Same thing with me a few weeks ago when I did my brakes. I just took a sludge hammer and lightly tapped the back of my rims.....came off no problem and no damage to wheels at all. I bought one of those small packets of anti-seize at Autozone for $1 and put a dab between my rotors and wheels.

suburbs98: i assume that there were no problems with the tires and the fit of the tire to the wheel was good. no bulges.

That would be my concern too - any number of things can go wrong with a tire - if you buy it off the internet and something goes wrong (manuf. defect or whatever) you're basically out of luck unless you can convince a retailer to help you out (good luck unless you know someone). Plus with a 205/45R16 tire you will have worse gas mileage because for every revolution you aren't going as far.

Just put some Pirelli Wintersport 210 performance winter tires on my car - and my car just tears through the snow and slush. Paid about $400 for them (of course, I hooked myself up since I work at a tire place).

Ok, the tires fit great and handling is unbelievable. The stock tire has 852 revs/mi. and the 205/45/16 has 867 revs/mi. When the speedo says 60, you are going 59. Not that big of a difference for the extra performance. Your speedo is probably off that much anyways. And, since discount tire actually sells Falken tires, it was a dollar, yes $1, per tire for the warranty, free rotation, and balancing for the life of the tires. Not too badconsidering I don't have a hookup at a tire shop. Just my 2 cents for drummerjim50.

Hey - do whatever works for ya. That was generous of Discount Tire to do that for you. Don't let my skepticism rain on your parade

i haven't had a chance to throw the winter rubber on the speed yet, but i was slidin around a little bit today (and it was just cold rain, small amount of snow :() on my toyo's, so they will definitly be going on somtime soon...

how do you guys think my car will look with 16" Chrome Probe GT swirlies on it for winter rims/tires? :D...

:D, the chrome is already peeling a little bit, but thats aight, they look good as long as your 10 feet away from them :p haha...
