How come we don't get these climate control buttons like they have in the Asian/Japanese version?

I totally agree. I'd love to find out if there is a place to order the european/asian version to replace the US climate control unit. Auto AC is definately a feature I'd love to have. Anyone know of any possibilities?

Someone has contacted a UK dealership about it and it costs $1500 + VAT + shipping for just the automatic climate control unit itself. In addition, there are 5-7 sensors that need to be added.

As to the topic of this thread 'Every time they have the better stuff' (and also to what's happened to the 'Pics of i guage cluster instead of s' thread). Did any of you notice those large 15-inch alloys on the car above, or how about the very powerful 1.6l engine in that car (it may even be the 1.4l). Or how about the 2.0l Mazda3 in Finland with 16-inch wheels costing $32k US (and that's not even top of the line, but it does have auto-climate-control).

Without getting too much into a business/product planning spiel here, the point I'm trying to make is that each individual country's product planners HAVE TO make certain trade-offs that best suit their market. If N. America had ALL the goodies, the cost would be atrocious. You can't have your cake and eat it too, be thankful Mazda has already included so many goodies in the N. American-spec Mazda3.

What I feel is sorely lacking is a 12v power port. That is not something that is considered either a luxury or an expensive option. Hell... the damn cigar lighter doesn't even have power with the key off! You can't charge a cell phone unless you're driving. (notcool)
