oh... and the wattage is right too... 55W for the lowbeams and 65W for the high beams...
NothingFlashy said:I've been using the Eurolite Xenon Fusion H7 bulbs for the low beams, and the 9005 bulbs for high beams pretty much since day one. And the Eurolite Xenon Crystal H3 for the fogs.
So far, 1 year and running for the fogs (which are always on with the headlights) and they are going strong. Although, it turns out that the glass covering on the fogs are slightly coated yellow (so says the salesman), thus, the whitish/bluish hint achieved in the headlights from the H7 bulbs can't be seen in the fogs. (i.e: might not want to bother with changing the fog bulbs)...
As for the lowbeams, the bulbs usually last 8 months or so. And, the left (driver side) bulb ALWAYS burns out before the right side bulb. The lights are noticeable brighter and whiter...
yeah... $30 CAD ain't bad I suppose... would be nicer if they lasted a full year though.
gotta be careful putting them in though... (i.e. find a friend with skinny-ass wrists and fingers)
yeah...

As far as bulbs, has anyone put the Silverstars in their fogs? Those are the only bulbs I'd like to change and I'd like to find something a bit brighter, but I don't want them to have that blue tint like the imitation HID's....any suggestions?
Thanks,
Andy

Anyways, I have heard good and bad things about these bulbs.... bottom line for me is there is better ways for me to spend my money right now.
The coating makes since. White light tends to reflect more on fog. If you look at any old cars with optional fog lights, the lenses will almost always be amber. These lights usually rode much higher than the ones on the P5 and other modern cars so white light would be like having another set of headlight: not good in the fog.NothingFlashy said:Although, it turns out that the glass covering on the fogs are slightly coated yellow (so says the salesman), thus, the whitish/bluish hint achieved in the headlights from the H7 bulbs can't be seen in the fogs. drew72ca said:When you used the spray to smoke out the lenses, did you just spray over the amber or did you start with clear? I have a black P5 and have thought about the clear and the smoked look. Personally, I think smoked looks better than clear on dark cars, so I'd like to pursue this route.
drew72ca said:Do they sell those front bumper lights....the ones you show smoked in your picture that come on with the parking lights, in clear or smoked? If so, where can I get them?
drew72ca said:I'm thinking I may do the side ummmm blinkers? / side markers? too. THOSE are clear already and I think they would look good smoked. I'm really liking the idea of those titanium Silverstars to use for the front blinker/parking lights, rear blinkers and the side blinkers/markers so you can't see the amber color unless they light up.
drew72ca said:By the way, did you remove the lights to spray the smoke stuff on them or just mask off around them?
Subghetto said:LOL! That's what happened to me I also saw the price of the RX-7 ones and I said forget that. I need to get my hands on a digital camera since the one in the pic my friend took it with his. I'll see if I can get my hands on a digital camera soon so I can take pics of the smoked bumper lights in the day since they look so much better and also of the titanium bulbs.
BTW..If you look at my sig those are the titanium parking blinkers which are on. They are'nt amber b/c I got superwhites.

I already did search and didn't find exactly what I was looking for, so I tailored my question(s) to get specific answers. If you don't feel like answering my questions, then cool, but to yell "SEARCH!!!!!!" is completely redundant.![]()
