Antoine, I have been on this site before but not for a long time now and low and behold I had a look and there are some pictures of my little baby.

click on foto , 2009-7-11 England 1 and there you go my red Cosmo B20 TTR

That was an interesting day, it was 1st run out since I had imported the car it was awful weather rained all the way there 200kms,
on route to Santa Pod ( which is the UK's largest drag strip ) i overtook a car on a 2 lane carriageway and as the boost came on song the rear wheels let go and she was virtually sideways before I managed to get her back in a straight line,, those Bridgestones are fantastic in he dry but bloody lethal in the wet,, picked up a top 3 spot in the show and shine, headed for home with trophy in hand and a smile on my face,(second)(bang) approx 80 kms from home the car had a little cough and then cleared,, strange I thought,, did it twice more a little further to home,, still pulled well but when idling was very lumpy and low.:(

after a few days head scratching and trying different things like new plugs and listening to non Rotary Experts I decided to telephone a Rotary Specialist in the UK,, he didn't like what I was saying and diagnosed it over the phone
APEX SEALS on one ROTOR had broken,, but to make it slightly worse it had taken a rotor housing with it,, so away she went for a full rebuild and a mild street port job whilst it was being stripped,, I have now completed 300kms since rebuild and I am still taking it easy as it has to go back in for a tune up and set up on the rolling road after 1000 kms,, also gives my wallet a chance to recover(braindead

but I still love her

Glad you guys dig it...I really like seeing the original factory option catalog and the original brochure is just beautiful!

Thanks for the background story, Frank...I hope my 20B stays healthy for as long as possible...It costs an absolute fortune to rebuild 20Bs in Japan!

Antoine, I can assure you it wasn't cheap here in the UK either,, in fact the engine rebuild cost me more than purchasing the car from JAPAN AND SHIPPING AND TAXES (nuts),,
It all seems down to mileage apparently ( or kms in your case ) unless you have over boost issues or poor at your maintenance ( oil etc ) which I cant believe you would be ,,
What mileage are you showing now Antoine ? ,,as the Rotary Expert that did the work for me stated that on the original 3 pc Seals you are lucky if you get more than 100,000 kms before they would need replacing,, however the new 2pc seals that you would use to replace them with you could quite easily see close to double that
it's when they let go and the damage they cause to the rotor housing that pumps the price up ( Devil's Claw they call it I believe ) (nailbyt)

I am just in the process of putting the Leather interior in it from the 13b I bought so I will post some before and after photos soon

Frank

Thanks for the info...If anything, I'm OVER careful about matienence...I've currently got around 38,000~39,000km I believe (have to double check) and so far my 20B has been running like a swiss watch.

My Mazda dealer friend has confirmed this and even says the exhaust smells "good" meaning the engine is healthy in rotary / mechanic terms...(woowoo)

Lookin' forward to seeing your interior swap! :D
