ETS TMIC & heat soak...

Yess, this car gets air fed to the IC when you're moving, a fan blowing over the top is not enough, a fan directly on top is adequate.

Exactly.

And yes you will heat soak still some with that TMIC but it is not as bad as the stock one.

...just spray the intercooler with the kit from protege garage made for the speed6/ETS topm mount. (it freezes the fins).....problem solved--no more heat soak with all the benefits of a top mount......I am about to purchase a 3.25ETS, vented cabon fiber hood, and the spray kit for the intercooler.

My buddy used a bag of ice on his Subie top mount IC on dyno runs. Says it works great.

just install a water sprayer kit like the sti's have u think cusco makes one pretty easy to make yourself people have done it with the msp search and you will find

Only problem with the DISI is that our plugs are right underneath the IC. Water + electronics = not good

Be careful...

I made a sprayer for my MS6 - Windshield Washer pump, a spray nozzle, tubing and a milk jug ... 20 bucks

Not sure if this applies or not, but wouldn't driving in the rain/snow be just as much water through the IC and onto the plugs as produced by a IC sprayer? I am assuming that at least some water gets through the ducting in the hood or through the front grill when you drive.

I haven't looked at these, I am assuming they are the coil on plug version. None the less the connection should form a seal around the head with a rubber boot which prevents water from getting into the spark plug well.

*opinion* An IC sprayer should be pretty safe as long as the fluid being sprayed on the IC is not flammable like methanol.
