Ethanol poisoning my engine

Hydrogen fuels seem to be the next target. The only problem here is hydrogen can't combust on its own. Their must be a mixture of another substance. . . I guess Organic Chemistry was useful

Hydrogen powered vehicles do not use hydrogen for combustion power, they are FUEL CELL powered, which is creates electricity by breaking the hydrogen electron away from the proton, capturing that electron for use in a storage/battery, the wasted proton then binds with Oxygen and the waste product of the reaction is H20...or water...

Maybe you were thinking of Natural gas powered vehicles, but you are right...all combustion requires oxygen for the combustion to occur.....

its not 10% per fill up its 10% by volume, which means those big ass trucks with the tanks have 10% ethanol in there i think, idk lol

but i do know its really not enough per fill up to do any harm, or reduce gas mileage, i have actually been getting 390+ Miles per tank since i started filling up at the marathon around here, Citgo got bought out by marathon, they have the cheapest prices too 3.54 for unleaded

Yeah they mix it in winter fuel. it helps keep the gasoline from freezing and turning to gel. I used to hate it because my gasmilage would suck balls. Ethenol is not the wy to go hydrogen either both create less energy than gasoline. I'm putting my stock in biodiesel it';s the fuel alternitive with the least unanswered questions but it alls contains ethenol and still produces less endgery that patrolium thus bringing fuel milage down. It really is a lose lose situation and as of right now these fuel alternitives are doing nothing to save money at the pump and in fact by putting ethonol in with your gas will make the oil companies even more money because they can charge you the same and because of the decresed milage you will have to buy gas more often. Why do you think bush signed this bill in the first place?

BTW on the topic of mazda. Mazda did some testing with Hydrogen in an RX-8 and it resulted in a huge drop in performance. I'll see if I can find the artical. it's quite old.

are you sure he didn't run 25% methanol? that's completely different, it's a high octane fuel they use in race cars (mj) don't get the two confused

positive my friend and tech at work, told me his (mitsubishi) friends, run like 10 gallons of 91 octane and a couple of E85.

my friend also has a 10 second 1.6 mirage INSANE theres a video of it on youtube of him going 170 and hitting a little dip but man it gets airborn lol

i think either way...if my brain still works...it is 10%...becuase any portion of the big truck's fuel would contain 10% ethanol.

Why do you think bush signed this bill in the first place?

ya its not even a question in my mind that the government is tied with the oil companies...which is why they do nothin to lower the prices

not really, because idk if ethanol and gas mix really well or not but there could be more/less ethanol in the gas depending on where the gas is coming from in the reservoirs

but top end performance isn't necesarily the main priority. Last summer, the city of Hartford put the state's first ever hydrogen powered Bus into service. the goal was public transportation with a renewable fuel source that greatly reduced air pollution. the first step in cleaning up a very corrupt...er dirty city.
Better technology is born out of trial and error. Renewable sources arn't mainstream in the U.S. yet, but is other countries they have been working on it for years. Brazil with sugar ethonal, and I think switzerland or holland is big on hydrogen. Not only do they have technology and fuels, but they also have vehicles and infrastructure to support mass distribution and consumption by the general public. Brazil has a 30 year head start in the ethonal game, there's no way the US free market would be able to catch up instantaniously unless every american agreed to stop buy dino based fuels, then followed through with switching over.
