Engine wont start after rebuild

Alright guys I have some good news and some bad news I found the connector I belieevve it is the nuetral saftey switch it was on the top of the tranny under the tb I think someone said it was there I just couldn't find it cause it was covered by a metal brace. The bad news it didn't start all I got was a click again! I think I'm going to pull the starter tonight and tale it to autozone and have it tested but if ya have anymore ideas I'm open to them thanx again for all the help!

At least it's just clicking - since it won't even turn over, it sorta limits your options. It's either the starter or something else electrical, and it sounds like you've eliminated everything except the starter now.

Let's hope that it's only one component - I know how frustrating it can be when straightforward troubleshooting doesn't solve your problems.

Good luck, and keep us informed.

well i just got in fom the garage i had the starter tested and it works fine. when i went to go hook it back up i noticed another ground that wasnt hooked up, anyway i got it all hooked up and heard the starter kick in and turn over but not enough juice to start so it will be on the charger tonight and ill let youknow how tomorrow goes! thanx for all the help again guys you've really helped me a lot thanks!!

alright guys the battery had a full charge so i figured id give it a go well it had a lot more juice to it but still not enough. i had a wire start to melt and smoke i took a pic and circled the wire. i know its in the right spot cause i took a pic before and its in the right spot.

well hopefully we can figure out why this is doing it. it looks like im getting power and its going to a ground so maybe i have a bad ground somewhere else. hopefully someone can help me with this. let me know what you think. if you need a better pic i can get that too.

Sorry, man, I'm still not in the same city as my car, so I'm not going to be really good with wiring questions. If you've got wires melting, though, you definitely have a bad ground somewhere - I wonder if you can just splice in a temporary ground to see if it fixes the issue?

I had the same exact issue with the smoke coming from the wire. I replaced my starter and it fired right up.
