engine problem

1993 V6 ..car idling at intersection when the revs suddenly rise to 1500 rpm then engine cuts out.will not restart so push off road.Try to start again a few times with no response but can smell petrol so put throttle to floor and try again !!engine fires and journey completed.So maybe fuel filter so change but no results and problem still there with loss of power but still running but not confident to go into traffic in case it all happens again ?? so any ideas ???

so they made the mazda 6 in 1993? haha don't think. and also you decided to put this in the ecu/tuning section?
